GREG ODEN OUT FOR THE YEAR!! Great time to renew my season Tickets.

Source has told me Greg Oden is out for the Year.

We wont be seeing the over rated #1 draft pick play next year..

Out of the blue he found out his knee hurt.. And he had to have surgery, one that latest news says will now keep him from playing for next year.

GREAT..

I just wrote my $8,700.00 check to the Blazers for renewing my season tickets before I left for my vacation.

D-Money 09-13-2007 11:03 AM

Greg is 42 years old.

Durrant will tear it up this year.

I feel for Portland.

I'll share my Cavs with you this year.

Oden isn't going to be shit anyways...everyone is just going to have to wait another year to find that out. He'll be in foul trouble his whole career and people will say that is the reason he did not live up to his potential. When in fact he was nothing better than an average forward. I'm not sure where all the hype came from, he can block some shots but he isn't big enough to guard any real power forwards in the league or big/good enough to post them on O.

Pics Traffic 09-13-2007 11:20 AM

Who is that anyway?

triumph 09-13-2007 11:21 AM

that sucks. you guys should have picked Durant, he is the next heir to the great players like Magic, Jordan, etc.

Sosa 09-13-2007 11:49 AM

sucks for you bone. Was taht amount for two tickets behind thebasket you always show? or for others as well?

FelixFlow 09-13-2007 11:51 AM

unless Durant gains 50 pounds, he's not goin to be shit either...that beanpole's too small for grown NBA players

g$$$ 09-13-2007 11:51 AM

OUCH! that has to hurt

BAKO 09-13-2007 11:54 AM

smoke 09-13-2007 12:15 PM

I read an article that said it was micro fracture surgery, thats not good if true. Thats the same thing Amarie Staudamire had that kept him out a long time.

He's similar size to Garnett and J Oneal when they came into the league.

If he indeed had micro fracture surgery then he will be out for the year, but I haven't heard that for sure. Portland wasn't going to do anything with him anyway this year, give them three years to develop all that young talent.

Rodent 09-13-2007 12:44 PM

No rookie of the year honors for that man child lol

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 09-13-2007 12:55 PM

Oden will make $3.885 million as a rookie

Oden out for the season

Greg Oden, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, likely will miss the 2007-08 season following micro fractrure knee surgery, the Portland Trail Blazers confirmed today in a statement.

Oden wrote about another bump in the road Tuesday in his blog at yardbarker.com: "On my vacation earlier this summer I got up off the couch and remember my knee having a sharp pain in it. That was about a month ago."

Oden is expected to be on crutches for up to eight weeks. Recovery time generally takes between six and 12 months for full recovery from micro fracture surgery, the team said in the news release.
REMEMBER: Be careful when getting off the couch while on vacation people!!!

Damn that sucks!

Cory W 09-13-2007 04:48 PM

Oden was the best pick in the draft, hands down.

Durant can't even bench 185.

You always take the big man on draft day.

Injuries happen.

With all due respect, that has nothing to do with anything...

Look at Manute Bol :)

Ramos,

For the life of me, I wish you and Josh would just turn off Sportscenter for like 2 seconds and listen to me.

Durant isn't strong enough for the NBA. While he may develop, he isn't a better pick than Oden unless you want a shoe contract. Always take the center.

Always!

Durant is the better pick, he's going to actually play. As far as him being stronger, it really has no relevance, he is a young guy he will develop and be able to battle, just give it some time. BTW, I like Oden, but Portland is cursed. So are my Knicks, once King got hurt that was it, I thought we had it in Starks...:(.....

I do listen to what you say...(but that Shaq talk :Oh crap)

billybathgate 09-13-2007 07:58 PM

its gonna be a long season for portland ...

How was San Diego?

Cory taking the big man was the right choice for Portland BUT of course that doesn't mean it will work out that way.

i don't know what the fuck SilkyJohnson is talking about - why would Oden be guarding PF's? he's a center and in an NBA bereft of quality centers even in his rookie year he'd be in the Top 10. he's only 19, he took Ohio St to the NCAA championship game with an injured hand.

i feel bad for Portland fans - i would be sick if this happened to my team, there's nothing more fun for a hardcore fan of a beleaguered franchise than a top draft pick you're hoping is the start of a better future.

hope this isn't going to be an injury jinxed career for him.

Exactly.

I don't however believe this makes him an injury prone player. In fact, some times injuries like this are good for guys such as him. He has taken a beating his entire life, occasionally, a string of months off heals not only the injury, but the body in general.

Ever notice how a guy in the NBA will get hurt for a season and then come back on fire? They get their legs back and they tend to focus on basics.

Not saying this will be the scenario for Oden, but I am saying it isn't the end of the world. Yet.
