It should be a day spent with family and friends.
A day to remember those who have fallen.
Hopefully you will all see the need to show respect and patriotism.

i know a lot of radio stations are running commercial free tomorrow. I'm not sure why this is necessary to express one's deep sorrow about what happened a year ago.


To me it would make more sense to go about business as usual, and to take half the profits of whatever is made tomorrow to charity, not the 9/11 charities any more, they raised so much money that those victim's families have been taken care of. If not, we have a lot of thieves working in the charity business, which we do unfortunately.

I don't see why not making money on September 11th is a fitting and necessary tribute.

"we" as the average not-in-the-armed-forces citizen of any western country are not coming for anyone. "we" - including myself - are going to sit on our fat asses in front the television and hope for the best.

I'm sorry, but what a load of bullshit. People need to get on with their lives. I don't see how killing your source of income for a day, and losing a bunch of traffic in the process is patriotic.

And if you want to get all deep with meaning and symbolism, wasn't Bin Laden's intent to hurt the American economy? Shutting your site down for a day isn't helpings things in the slightest.

A simple note of condolence would do just fine.

It is this same kind of attitude that got us here. We turned our backs after Pearl Harbor. Now we are doing it again.

I am not saying this "act" will prevent anything.
It is just a small act of appreciation to the heroes of that day and an act of respect for the fallen.

I am sure the families of all of the victims won't be doing much of anything except remembering how badly this event has changed their lives.

We all grew up in a country where we could feel secure and comfortable. That has all changed.

Unfortunately, the attitudes haven't.

Why should I close my "FREE" sites down for Sept. 11th.. All my sites are "FREE" sites and I don't make any money any ways.. I don't make enough to buy a mouse a pair of shoes.

people will deal with it their own way. we all come from different backgrounds so you can't simply tell people to do something and expect them to do it. just how it goes. obviously what happened on 9/11 effected you (flash) more than most american people because of your background.. whoever we are inside will determine how we respond.

We provide entertainment, a release from the day to day bullshit. On september 11th 2001 i shut down all my dialer site's to free up phone lines in New York (since my dialer co ran out of NY). I see no reason why anyone should do anything different tomorrow.

Spend 10 minutes in the morning for a moment of silence, out of respect to those who lost their life. Then get on with yours.

I think a note of condolence on any web site would be a very nice gesture, but not a necessary one. Personally, I am also linking to the Red Cross' site... but I am NOT shutting down operations. That's just giving the terrorists what they want, IMO.

I agree that we should mourn the loss. I also agree that we should stomp out the parties responsible (even the bully has to fight back) but I don't agree that we should all shut down our businesses.

Flash, I appreciate your efforts towards the events of the 11th, but think about what you're asking everyone to do. You're asking America to let Sept. 11th hurt its economy even more than it already has. Don't you think Bin Laden would be happy if he found out that all businesses shut down every Sept. 11th and America's economy took a dive that day every year? It would be like he was still striking us each year. There's nothing wrong with posting a tribute on your site or at your storefront or something, but shutting down and trying to damage your country's economy is not the answer.
