Lobster could be in the same family as the dung beetle and I'd still eat it.

Kevin Marx 08-30-2007 10:29 PM

Not lobster.... langostina.... smaller

Langostina are smaller than lobster.. bigger than crawfish

Lobster are langosta... bigger than that.

gecko 08-30-2007 10:33 PM

they used to force black slaves to eat lobsters , because it used to be the cheapest thing to feed them. so they made a law that you could only feed your slaves lobster on certain days of the week.

Dagwolf 08-31-2007 12:16 AM

I love seafood.

They don't de-vein the shrimp in most places in Mexico, that's always turned me off it a little... I find myself doing the dirty work with a knife on every shrimp I eat.

seeric 08-31-2007 10:28 AM

i love the lobster down in baja. best i've ever had.

Yeah... I've heard people say that, and not to rain on the parade, but it's not true - only a common myth... they're related, but not that closely.

They're actually not in the same Family.... but they are in the same Phylum.... they're both Arthropods... which is one step away from saying they're both "Animals." From there, their scientific classification deviates to Crustacea and Insecta (both Subphylums).... "Family" is much further down on the scientific classification list.... right before Genus and Species....

To put it in perspective: Humans are of Phylum Chordata, so comparing Lobster and any insect is the same as comparing a Human and any fish or any frog - or any other non-mammalian vertebrate. :2 cents:

.

I've heard beetle actually tastes decent... like chicken with a crunchy shell.

Can't speak for the dung variety, though. :1orglaugh
