Okay, well, let's see. Japan has no evil catholic / christian morals when it comes to sex. Sex isn't a bad thing that your family will disown you over.

clients low ball be cause they can. since sex is involved peeps will work for almost nothing. a 100-300 a day, no pro will shoot for that. when I shot sex I made 1500-1800 a day.

so now clients expect sex for almost nothing, then there are the euro shooter selling sex for low prices due to model/production cost, in LA a sex shoot cost over 1500 to produce while the euro shoots prolly cost 500. this is with out location rentals. and remember the homegrown euros shoot much cheaper than the producers flying in from out of town.

unlike LA where peeps fly in to shoot and the prices have gone up for everybody. clients tell me the euros are paying models 300 for sex. a german model told me she got 280 for a day with anal and everything. the euro shooters deny that on the boards though.

sure there are guys shooting cheaper in LA however those are usually guys A. making not much profit or B. waiting to catch girls when they need drugs.

the main thing I'm asked by prospective clients now is: do the models speak english. interesting isn't it? then they wanna pay euro prices for the scenes. so the only choice their left with is to buy cheap content for under experienced shooters if they want that price.

the clients I shoot for know that my cost have gone up well over 200% in the last 3 years. so is the quality of content going down? good content cost more to produce and the clients are paying more for good content. the shooters that I know who are reasonably good are being offered contracts.

what is that gonna do to other sites? and now many sites are putting their own production houses together, buy a big house, pay a photog 35K a years and shoot 5 days a week for a ring of sites. good shooters aren't going to work for 35K a year.

one of my clients figure that in a few years most content will be shot by a few large companies and the small houses will be gone. like I say will be very interesting to see how it goes.

one other interesting thing: there are 1000% more models in LA than 3 -4 years ago and the 'value' of models has risen over 200% well over %200. if everybody in town had an apple tree in the back yard would the price of apples go up? I don't think so... this is gonna be interesting to watch also.

the DVD companies are down 25% in profit from 2005 to 2006, the numbers aren't in for the 2006 to 2207 yet. in 2006 the big companies even stopped shooting for a few months due to backlog of product they couldn't sell. now all the vid companies are stripping their lines for web content. traffic is much harder to get, the surfer is getting educated.

interesting times coming up for sure. I think exclusive content with quality will be the way to go. who really knows though?
