Abortion? Yes or No ?

For mine when a man is the one that gets pregant and carries the baby for 9 months and then has to breastfeed and all the associated mothering type things then, and ONLY then, should ANY man have thr ight to even have an opinion on the matter.

I am pro WOMENS choice.

And why not? Something real to discuss beats some of the gods-honest codswallop that has been doing the rounds here of late.

Oh, and sorry, too late, onto it already.

I am pro choice, but the guy should have a say. Years ago my brother got a girlfriend he had pregnant. She never told him and had an abortion behind his back. He was crushed, broke up with her and it took years before he could even mention her name without getting pissed because he felt like she killed his kid.

It takes two to make the kid so both should have a say. Obviously there are times and situations when the father isn't around or doesn't care or is a jackass or something like that, but in normal situations asking the fathers input is the only fair thing to do.

Porn Farmer 07-07-2007 12:02 AM

Abortion: YES

Way too many fucking people.

So find a woman that wants to have your kid.

Simple.

It's the womans choice, not the man's. Her fucking body.

I don't just believe in abortion, but I believe in it to at least the 720th month. But then again that belief became all to clear after being an admin for a certain board for two years. :winkwink:

notabook 07-07-2007 12:10 AM

Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others.

D 07-07-2007 12:11 AM

This kinda thing usually bothers me in the way people present the issue.

In my personal life, no.

If my girlfriend got pregnant, or my sister did - and either were considering an abortion, I'd let them know that while I respect their ultimate authority on the topic, I simply couldn't agree with them going down that path - and I would expect them to have the same respect for me in offering that advice that they do on any other subject. In the case of my girlfriend, it'd likely mean the end of our relationship if she opted to abort.

That said, I don't believe that I have any right to impress my views on any other woman who is not directly seeking my opinion on the matter.

I'm Anti-Abortion, but also very Pro-Choice.

And it bothers me that nearly every time this topic's brought up, people classify things as if the two are mutually exclusive.

This topic has been done to death here. I've posted my opinion on this at least 10 times since the board opened.

My cliffnote opinion: it's a choice, period.

That is all.

His fucking sperm. She can't just magically have a baby. A car don't drive without gas.

I'm not saying that she should be forced to have the kid, but she should at least have to hear his side of it and make a decision from there.

A friend of mine went into the hospital to get a vasectomy. The doctor made his wife sign an agreement saying that she knew of the procedure and approved of it. When asked the doctor told them that it was policy because they wanted to make sure that she didn't come back and sue them later.

There are several states that require married men to get their wife's approval before getting a vasectomy. It's his body, but she has a say. How is this different?

It's not. Its his body and his choice.

The law is wrong.

d-null 07-07-2007 12:27 AM

she should have the ultimate decision, but he should have the right to opt out financially then too

The law may be wrong, that doesn't change it from existing. States like Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia all require married men to get written permission from their wives before they can get an vasectomy.

You're basically religating the issue to a punative level.

No Mason my friend, I am relegating to a PERSONAL level.

EACH person's who gets pregnant level to be precise.

Uhhh, wear a condom.

You ejaculate into a woman and create a child, you pay for it, bud.

d-null 07-07-2007 03:03 AM

there is such a thing as being young with raging hormones and alcohol etc

the time for rational decisions is often after when faced with sobering realities

minniesoporno 07-07-2007 07:10 AM

I am pro choice, but its not like the guys has to push out something the size of a watermelon out the opening of a lemon, so what really can he say , when he is not experience the hormons, the mood swings. I have seen too many of my friends try and invovle the guy all they do is sit there and shrug I don't know do what you think is best.

stickyfingerz 07-07-2007 07:18 AM

Im Pro life.. that said. I know we are unlikely to see abortions outlawed, and there is no black and white here. There are circumstances where it is better to abort. The problem is where the line should be drawn. 20 weeks 25 weeks 5 weeks? The limits should be restricted much more than what they are. It SHOULD NOT be used as birth control. Accidents happen, but when they do they should be taken care of IMMEDIATELY. Not when a fetus is nearly viable. :2 cents:

headless ghost 07-07-2007 07:22 AM

its too late, he is 61 years old and the president

BoyAlley 07-07-2007 07:26 AM

Pro choice :thumbsup

Joesho 07-07-2007 07:45 AM

I do not think we liv in a black and white world unfortunatly!

many many many shades off grey involved.

I am pro choice per se and on the surface.... However I do feel there are exceptions to the rule and those exceptions should always be adressed properly in any making of the rule.

Such as : at what age does this so called "womanhood" start? I mean girls are getting their period at 11 yrs old... do you really think they are compentent to make that choice????

What about ability and wherewithal to raise a child??? are you a religious man? believe in fate? think that destiny is the road of our future?
because if a woman that thinks she has the ability or wherewithal to have a child, or heaven forbid a woman tries to trap a man with a child, or any other number of things and that child is then doomed to have a mother that may or may not love them.... yes evil does exist in the world unfortunatly, so should the child be at risk as a destiny, or fate? or did a certain god of whatever religion determine that that woman should take those actions and now a child is left alone in the world somehow and given a shit road of life to approach it from..... should the child just " man up" or tough it out, or make his/her own destiny due to the mothers faults . since she had not made the right "choice"

What about insane people should they get a choice? I mean it is their body???

What about those people that try to have kids just to work our welfare system for money? or the Chinese that choose men over women or destroy the kid so as not to go over the baby quota? should they still have the same choice?

What about countries or areas, or religions that believe the MAN should decide which woman to have bay with........ does that woman have to live with that choice forever ?

I mean I am all for choices, but responsibilty is not as easy to bestow as an option to make a choice is .

What if it was the other way around and the woman wanted , but the man didn't. Why should he then be forced to pay child support if "it's the womans choice"?

I'm not saying I'm against child support. And on a personal level I'm pro life, but I wouldn't support a law that out right banned abortions. But the issue isn't as black and white as you label it.

What happens when a couple get pregnant and she doesn't want to have it but he does? It's okay for her to abort it because she has to carry it and bla bla bla, and she doesn't want it but what about the father who does want this baby?
Shouldn't he get a say in the matter or it doesn't matter cause she is the one who has to carry the baby?

FakeNick 07-07-2007 08:12 AM

yes a lot of people on gfy should have been aborted by there parents :2 cents:

tony286 07-07-2007 08:15 AM

Codswallop

Back to the topic ...

It shouldn't surprise anyone that our Gov't would rather see Women forced to go the wire hanger route- much easier to keep control over our gender.

The rich will always have the resources to abort - they just call it a D&C.

picXX 07-07-2007 10:38 AM

It should be a public vote... just as this ;)

I HAVE been in that position, and YES, it does suck, but I am still not the one who has to do the "hard work".

It has always reminded me of that of the line about bacon and eggs for breakfast ....

The chicken is INVOLVED, but the pig is COMMITTED.

Negative. If once cant fend for themselves how can they start a family, there are alot of different views on this subject. to one its own
