Its an acquired taste. It takes a fine ear to discern the melody and beauty in grind and death and its all their derivatives.

It took me a year of pushing it down my girlfriends throat before she finally started picking up on it.

Before for her it was all a giant blur of growling and screaming. Now she can pick out the subgenres and niche everything out better than most. She still confuses numetal breakdowns with hardcore though, but she is still learning.

Harmony Corruption and Scum are two classic grindcore albums...fuck song structure...grindcore isn;t about that...

with grindcore, the vocals are an instrument, not some "zany frontman" trying to pick up chicks....

ah, but I guess some people just don't get it...and that suits me just fine...

If Napalm Death starts doingballads and verse-chorus-verse-chorus song structures...I'm fucking outta there....

you want the true experience of grindcore? go see Napalm Death live....if you can survive....I took my sister-in-law, a diehard glam groupie, to see Napalm Death and Obituary and she became a covnert....

grindcore isn't music for 16 year iold teenie bopper cheerleaders or rowdy mrono jocks....


look more into the lyrics and you'll find any amazing amount of intelligence....well except for the songs about bodily dismemberment, satanism, mass murde and smashing people in the face with hammer.........

Couldnt agree more: it's a learning process. And dont get me wrong: it's nothing i have against the genre. I know Deicide and
Sepultura and although it's not my thang i dig it.

It's just that i constantly detect a lack of creativity on the napalm death album i mentioned earlier. And trust me: on this album
they forgot about melody and beauty.

And the album sounds blurry too.. like they killed the high end.

Oh I agree. Grind is devoid of melody like Syk pointed out. Im not a big fan of it myself but I will never say it sucks. Grind fans are rabid.

Brutal Truth wasn't bad, but just seemed to be one of the followers that glutted the grindcore genre for a couple years...

grindcore is more than just Exorcist style growls and ultra fast guitars....

hell, let's bury a hatchet and catch a Napalm Death show together some time...hahahahah
