I was just paid the highest compliment by black people.
Yesterday Justin Slayer called me to assist in a film shoot.
He said they just decided to try a dolly shot (something we never do) and asked if I had a dolly. I told him no, but that I had the basic frame work to a shopping cart that I used to wheel around my welder and that it could be used as a dolly. In low budget film making anything with wheels and a handle will work. Wheel chairs are ideal but we didn't have one. So he told me to come help them. I've shot for him several times before. We usually shoot with VX2000's, VX2100's, or DVX's... This time I showed up and these guys had an all out movie shoot going on. I haven't seen that much gear since I was in FX. I was blown away and when I get there the house was full of big black guys twice my size, and one black girl. I was the only white guy there. So I saw what they were trying to do, so I went and pulled the shopping cart off my truck and set their camera up on it and it worked. It was fucking ghetto but it worked. Justin was excited and called me the "macguyver nigga." By the time the shoot was over, I was the "macguyver nigga", I was Slayer's "Nigga", HJ's "Nigga", a "Crazy Nigga", everyon's "Nigga"... but I take pride in never being called a "bitch" I was accepted into another race's culture. It felt good not to be the odd man out. When Roxy saw the cart she said, "Lemme guess, this was that nigga Kamal's idea", I looked at her and said, "No, it was THIS nigga's idea." She laughed and said, "that thing is so nigga rigged, I just thought a nigga came up with that shit" I said, "Girl, I might just be the blackest person in this house." She laughed and ended up giving me some of the best photos I've ever taken. When the shoot was over we saw some of the footage and some footage they shot a few days ago. I must say I was fucking AMAZED at what they pulled off. There has NEVER been ANYTHING like this filmed for a porno. I'm excited to see the whole thing. He's not the #1 black seller at the #1 porn distribution company for nothin' I'll post a few pics of the shoot later. |
