Thanks Cleveland, you have ruined the NBA Finals.

I honestly have to wonder if anyone will watch the NBA Finals next year? I think the West Finals is pretty much all you have anymore, I seriously got fed some humble pie this week as I picked the Cavs to win.

I have never made a worse pick. Ever.

I can honestly say that I had no idea that the East was this pathetic. And don't tell me that San Antonio is just that good. They are a great team, but they are not one of the top 10 greatest teams ever. This falls squarely on the shoulders of the Cavs.

Poor coaching (leaving Lebron out for near 10 minutes while the Spurs humiliated them). Pretty much avoiding the game plan that beat SA the last few times you played them.

Players not hustling.

Your team leader missing free throws in pathetic fashion? (please stop comparing Lebron to Kobe. If the Lakers were in the East, they would win it). "But Lebron passes, his teammates love him, he makes everyone better." Who cares? If you want to beat the Spurs, or how about this, if an East team wants to beat the 10th worst West team, you need someone to attack the basket, not throw a tea party and read, "how to win friends in the NBA" just before you take the court.

This is all just too baffling. I really hope the Cavs make some type of adjustment because the direction this Finals is heading now may well be embarking on the worst separation of competitiveness between two conferences that compete for titles in any sport.

And I am taking into account the recent Lakers and Bulls dynasties, The Yankees, ... the only one they are behind is Lance Armstrong, but with what we have seen so far, they have a shot at surpassing that.

The West gets the top draft picks this years. Lakers are looking to appease Kobe by beefing up. Phoenix, Dallas and Utah are already great. And San Antonio, well, obviously, not much changing there. Basically, the Finals could actually be worse next year, go figure!

Wow. I may not watch Tuesday night. Time to get ready for those NFL Preseason games in Japan. I would expect them more competitive than this NBA finals.

seeric 06-11-2007 12:25 PM

you just made kb cry.

:(

BusterBunny 06-11-2007 12:26 PM

what are you talking about? cleveland has san antonio right where they want them, down 0-2 just like the pistons:pimp

CE_Chris 06-11-2007 12:27 PM

Its hard to watch I know, but don't give up so quick....

They were down two nothing last series...

Keep your head up... Clev is young

I sent him a text last night. I told him I was done with this deal.

This is pathetic, I am pretty sure he sees that.

Unreal. I watched American Idol Rewind last night after the half and honestly, it was way more competitive.

SomeCreep 06-11-2007 02:13 PM

The Spurs have already won 10,000 NBA championships. This is the first time the Cavs ever make the finals. Basically, what that means is the Cavs are toast.

baddog 06-11-2007 02:21 PM

Lulling the Spurs into a false sense of security is all part of the Cav's game plan.

except that in those first two games against Detroit, the Cavs had the ball and a chance to win at the end. They're getting smoked in this series.

Birdman33 06-11-2007 02:24 PM

OF course dont compare lebron go kobe

Lebron is in the finals kobe cant make the dam playoffs when shaq left. Kobe is 180 in the league in shooting % of course you cant compare him to lebron . LB shits on kobe straight out even when hes 7 years younger

CosmicTang 06-11-2007 02:27 PM

and there you have it, from a Celtics fan.

Kobe = best in the NBA.

Birdman33 06-11-2007 02:27 PM

If lebron had odem

If lebron had odem he would be on his way to his 2nd championship. If you put kobe on the cavs i gauranteed they wouldnt make the playoffs much less pass the first round.

SilkyJohnson 06-11-2007 02:29 PM

Damn, I think you are taking this Cavs beating a little too hard...I think they can win at least a game, maybe 2 in this series. If they don't it's really on the coach for not putting together a game plan that works and motivating his players. Don't forget that Mike Brown was Gregg Popovich's assistant for a while...I don't think that he's anywhere near the level that Pop is on.

The Cavs wouldn't make the playoffs in the West! They would be looking at drafting Oden!

I sent him a text yesterday. He already knows. I told him I am done with Cleveland.

In fact, I refuse to visit Cleveland until the East wins at least two games in a Finals matchup. I will pay extra to avoid layovers in Cleveland.

tranza 06-11-2007 02:44 PM

The Spurs are going to take this one home in 4 games.

harvey 06-11-2007 02:47 PM

Come on Cory, did you HONESTLY thought Cavs had a slight chance? Everything Cavs have right now ends at Bowen. Game over, thanx for trying. The superiority is overwhelming, how many teams you know that can put an all reserve team at the BEGINNING of the 4th quarter? Yeah, they almost blew a blow out difference, but Spurs just needed 2 mins with Duncan-Parker-Manu and everything got back to normal, that is Spurs are somwhere between 20/30 points ABOVE Cavs. And even from a Spurs fan POV as I am, it's boring, both games I felt like I was seeing one of those Globetrotters shows with the sidekick team being humiliated.

btw, right now Spurs is being considered by most basketball journalists as one of the top teams in NBA history, no team is close to them. Personally, I think the only teams who had a chance in a long series were Pistons and Bulls

D-Money 06-11-2007 02:47 PM

The Cavs really sucked pretty bad the first 2 games.

Really disappointing that they never showed up.

But hey, a loss is a loss, though these really didn't show much hope for my Cavs.

I do think they'll take tuesday in Cleveland because of their comfort at home and they do have pride, they can't go down 0-3.

But the question is, even if they play good enough in the next game, can they win again on Thursday?

As a Cleveland fan, I'm stoked they made it this far, so it's something to build on. Obviously they're missing a key player, maybe next year they'll sign an impact player. So to be this young and make it to the Finals is great.

But fuck, the Cavs got a major whoopin'.

At least we can have another game tomorrow instead of waiting like 3 days or a week. The NBA scheduling in the post season sucks.

Yes, after looking over the past two meetings, absolutely. I usually pick pretty well. But in this case, I was totally wrong.

Ok, now you are being a fan! I am so sick of hearing this! The Spurs look great because the Cavs are terrible. Just terrible.

2001 Lakers squad was better. 97 Bull, better. Go look at each one's playoff run, compare that to SA's playoff run. Look who the Lakers had to go through in 2001, and look what they did to them. Sweep. How many times has that happened? And furthermore, look who they swept...but then again, I am sure you recall. Didn't they roll over Duncan?

Spurs are a great team and very under appreciated, but all these Spurs fans ned to calm down, the Cavs are just that terrible. The East is just that terrible.

This is the worst prediction I have ever made, bar none.

I don't think they will win another game until they play an East team next year.

This is the biggest reason I never watch the NBA playoffs. They have far to many breaks during a series. For the Finals to start on a Thurs after the Cavs won on a Saturday is a joke. They lost all the momentum Lebron had gained.

Digipimp 06-11-2007 02:59 PM

the nba ruined the nba finals not cleveland. if you just realized how shitty the nba is you're about 5 years behind the curve at the very least. this league went to shit when they stopped allowing hard fouls, stopped street ball type of play and every other high school kid with an ego to get a contract.

Of course I'm a fan, I already said it, but the fact is all media was saying this BEFORE the finals started. And yes, those teams you mention were better (btw do not forget the Celtics dinasty!!!) but what THEY say is Spurs is ONE of teh best teams, not the best. And I agree with that :thumbsup

Furthermore, I think Cavs are on the way to build a dream team, Daniel Gibson is on the way to superstar, they just need a RELIABLE center, and when I say RELIABLE I mean somebody with blood in his veins. Big Z is... big. Nothing else. Owned by Oberto and Elson, 2 centers that nobody in his mind would rank as great (even tho Oberto is very under appreciated). But man, I just foresee a team of Gibson-Lebron-Sasha-Gooden and a reliable center and that's sick (and I'll include Varejao here, in 1-2 years he'll be the shit for those nasty hard fought games). They just don't have it right now

Yeah, right. Odom won't be less injured in Cleveland, will he? And when he decides to pull a disappearing act LeBron doesn't have the firepower Kobe has to score 50 when he HAS to.

none of this matters, because Cleveland couldn't make the playoffs in the Western Conference anyway. Eastern Conference basketball is unwatchable, as the finals are proving.

I will discuss the Cavs being a good team in 3 months. That is how long this pathetic showing is going to take me to get over.

I just deleted D$ from my icq and KB from my cell!

Aneros Josh 06-11-2007 03:18 PM

Ok Cory...I thought you learned your lesson in LA about basketball talk but apparently, your crazy delusional NBA thinking falls outside just the Lakers and Shaq. The Spurs (Tim Duncan primarily) ARE in fact one of the top 10 teams of all time and as much as I can't fucking stand them because watching their games are as exciting as watching amateur figure skating, even I can admit that they are a great TEAM and play great TEAM ball (probably the best in the NBA next to the Pistons). The fact that the Cavs lost the first 2 games IN San Antonio shouldn't come as any surprise and in this stage of the game, it's almost expected that ANY team in the finals should win their home games and drag the series out to 7 games giving the edge to the team with the original homecourt advantage...don't count the Cavs out yet and give credit to the Spurs for being one of the best teams.

4 days ago I would have disagreed with you (in regards to the East) but now I am going to say that you are smarter than me. I am a complete idiot.

As far as Kobe is concerned, people really need to pay attention to his accomplishments. Lebron has a long ways to go.

The Spurs may well be top ten. But you are just upset over the Shaq is more viable to a GM than Jordan. I stick by that!

The Cavs are done. Even with these gas prices, I would choose to drive around the state of Ohio at this point.

axelcat 06-11-2007 03:25 PM

I think the cavs wasted all their energy to beat the pistons and now they are out of gas, they look like amatuers in this series, fatigue has set in, this is the first time they have played this many games in a season, lack of experience.

cool wasn't sure cause everyone calls oden, odem just wanted to make sure...i personally think they need a big man that could alter shots and grab some rebounds the center they have now is a loser...they should get better as they play more games together and i can't count them out in the future just cause they proved me wrong already this year:2 cents:

Let's not forget about the Big Bad Dallas Mavericks who won the first 2 games against the Heat then lost 4 in a row. People were saying the same thing about the Heat as they are about the Cavs, and in my opinion, the Mavericks are almost even all around with the Spurs. Let's have at least ONE Cavs homegame then we'll know if they came to ball or not.

I'm not really going to comment on the Shaq is better than Jordan thing because come on.......

okay, please put down the hookah and step away.

If Tim Duncan was healthy last year we'd be talking about a Spurs repeat this year. Dirk is a chump and wilts under pressure. Duncan would have chewed him up.

And Miami had a guy named Dwayne Wade who put on a red cape during the finals. He had a veteran cast of support and some guy who can occasionally play center.

Michaelious 06-11-2007 03:56 PM

Sounds like it will be a waste of time watching the game.
