My name is Tony Michael; I am a contracting attorney for McDonalds Corporation. I represent the Human Resource division of the corporate parent company.

The IT division responsible for maintaining the www.mcdonalds.com website forwarded Human Resources print out of a discussion that took place on this website regarding a contest between two members of this board and weight loss.

I am attempting to reach those individuals, the following are the screen-names / aliases used:

As you can imagine, what was proposed in that thread is not only against corporate policy, but violates several federal and state laws, including gambling.

The issue was so big that they had to defer to outside counsel?

Mcdonalds takes this stuff very seriously. I once bet a friend he couldnt find any meat in a mcdonalds hamburger and mcdonalds sued me. I won the bet of course.

KC, I don't think they'll actually do anything to you guys -- my guess is they want you to retract the bet and apologize in public and that would be the end of it. I just don't want to see Lens get hassled over this kind of thing.

I understand that McDonalds employment is not as popular as other types of employment; however, several hundred thousand people find gainful employment with McDonalds each year. Although restaurant management is the core of our business, we offer several other areas of employment ? including Management, IT, and other corporate related positions.

Making jokes about such employment is disrespectful to those who work hard to provide a quality product, and earn a living wage.
