If you get a chance to ride in a modified Skyline jump on that shit. I used to go over to Japan several times a month for business and met people in the drift scene.

This is the absolutely sickest car I've ever been in. Unreal power.

Martin 05-06-2007 10:35 PM

That's nice man.

JD 05-07-2007 12:43 AM

just buy a fucking SC300 and mod it instead of shelling out a shitpile of $ importing car that will be impounded within days. You can't legally register a non-us car without it being modified to meet NHTSA/DOT standards.

ztik 05-07-2007 12:55 AM

Yup, its a lexus SC. I had one(sc400) for about 3 years but sold it cause I rarely drove it. It'll do 150 mph and it'll drive nice and smooth like its going 35.

I kinda miss that car now :(

I see those cars all the time over here. They're most likely very cheap on the used market.

Yup, pretty much.

They have a HUGE following just like Supra's too.

I don't know about the Shopping Cart wing on a Lexus

RawAlex 05-07-2007 04:33 PM

If you really want the car, buy it. Normally you can get the car to Montreal for a little less than $4000 shipping.

Scott McD 05-07-2007 04:35 PM

I expected something a little different...

nikki99 05-07-2007 04:47 PM

this has close to the same amount of power and i can easily get it to 500hp just by upgrading turbo and the best part is it can be done on stock internals

I doubt you'd want to just upgrade the turbo without upgrading the areas that it needs to run safely. You need a 255 fuel pump, larger intercooler, boost controller, a VPC, dump valve, maybe a twin power ignition, 2.0mm metal head gasket amongst other goodies - otherwise you'll cause a little catastrophe under your bonnet.

I did my TT supra 6 years ago and once you get above 450 it costs serious bucks

GeorgeM 05-07-2007 05:44 PM

nice car :thumbsup

well, in that case canada has laws about importing foreign vehicles as well. I think you can only import vehicles and legally own them if they are 12+ years old. I'm not suuuuure on that one because it's been a good 3 years since I looked into it. You better check with the canadian government before you consider importing a car ;)

edit: in Japan they're called a Toyota Soarer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Soarer

the exact answer right now is 15 years. That is potentially subject to change. This car as listed is a perfect candidate, 1992. The only thing is the car does have to pass a safety inspection depending on where you are going to plate it, which can be a real issue. Don't try this at home by yourself, get someone experienced in the process to help you.

I have a friend that does this stuff, and the amount of work required to get things done (from Japan to Montreal, inspected and ready to plate) is much more work than you would expect.

If you really want to get something done, the hookup is always possible.

k0nr4d 05-07-2007 06:56 PM

thats a toyota soarer not a lexus

Your in Montreal, you know the drill. The closed the place on De la Savanne, so now you actually have to get the car to pass. It's not always a big deal, but at times it can be a pain, from what I gather.

It's all good. Let me know when you pay for the car and we can work on the shipping :)

manilaheat 05-07-2007 08:56 PM

i dont see anything special about that car.
