Moving to Canada questions

To anyone living in Canada, if I wish to move there for 3-4 years, which would be the best city to live in?

Also, what would be the monthly income required to live in that city? How much on average for small apartments on rent?

if you are a hot girl.. Montreal.. no doubt..

WarChild 04-21-2007 09:22 AM

What country are you from? I'm not sure you can just "move to Canada" ...

jeffrey 04-21-2007 09:23 AM

What are you interests?

Do you need a job there?
If you like the mountins, hot women, and the lakes, Kelowna is a great place.
And an appartment would probably be 800-1000 for somewhere pretty good.

If you like to just party it up, Montreal is supposed to be pretty good, you'll need to pick up some french somewhat quickly as most speak english, but not all. I dont know about the cost of living there.

mattz 04-21-2007 10:36 AM

Where are you trying to move to Canada from?

donkevlar 04-21-2007 10:46 AM

Don't listen to anyone who says anything but Vancouver, Whistler, Kelowna, Banff or Montreal.

I'm biased but I'd go with Van... ocean, mountains, hot girls, amazing weed.

If u live right downtown studio apartments start at about $800.. $1500 for anything fancy. You can live cheaper (i'm paying $700 for a 2bdm) if you live outside of downtown.

stillsexy 04-21-2007 10:48 AM

i miss Canada...I'm planning to move back to Canada in 3 yrs time...hopefully...everything is on track...

Lance69 04-21-2007 10:49 AM

Definitely West coast.

JohnnyPearl 04-21-2007 11:12 AM

Montreal, Vancouver or Tonorto.

starpimps 04-21-2007 11:29 AM

Vancouver 1 bedroom downtown 1200ish/month u will get a nice place
great weather(except when it rains), great bud, and overall good place to live
my second choice would be whitehorse in the Yukon

Toonlogos 04-21-2007 01:54 PM

Im English, but Im spending a lot of time in Asia and I plan to explore a bit of the Americas next. They say I can get a permanent residency based on a point system which is not difficult at all, and move in with full rights to work etc. I was thinking along the lines of Vancouver as well.. I have been working online all the time in Asia but might need to get some parttime work in canada as well as it wont be as cheap as Asia.

They say? Not you? You haven't even read the requirements and you're coming here asking about moving to Canada? :1orglaugh Maybe then you are in for a shocker dude! lol. It really depends on your field of expertise and the quota Canadian gov has for it. It also can be a very lengthy process so you should start before babbling..

1. read the fucking requirements yourself
2. try to figure how many points you can earn
3. apply
4. wait
5. wait
6. if you are a techy maybe get papers in mail otherwise, a letter to appear for interview
7. wait
8. wait
9. get medical done.. if no health issues
10. go to interview
11. if lucky, get accepted, if not stay where you are

:)

Ya, he sure did, cuz you took all that time to write that whole response, and then he pretty said "stfu, let me worry about it, and just answer the question I asked."

How is finding people's opinions on the best place to live in Canada gonna take him years? Read the fucking post you asshat. Do you even live in Canada, the first sentence in his post is pretty specific and simple to follow.

Yo Mr. Moron, does he think we are here at his pleasure to serve him with answers to any of his question without knowing why's he asking that for? You don't think we work for him here or something or somehow he's our boss? Does he now? Read the title of this thread it says "moving to Canada.." not "just curious.. what city would be the best to live in Canada". Finding people's opinions on the best place to live in Canada won't take him years but "moving to Canada" would which is the title of this thread Mr. Airhead. And yes, I moved to Canada from the U.S. of A 7 years ago.

Actually the title says "Moving to Canada questions" not "Moving to Canada (COMMA!!!), questions"

reading comprehension 101 asshat.

seven, I guess you were trying to help me, no matter what the attitude, so I must say thanks.

And thanks aico for making me appear intelligent!

If anyone has more suggestions regarding the cities, please keep them coming. I'm liking Vancouver as of now.

Apart from being just too stupid - you obviously know nothing about "moving" anywhere. Take that tip and shut the fuck up and don't show your ignorance.

Aren't you the same racist fuck immigrant offspring yet said he didn't like non-whites migrating to Canada? Why don't you go teach your parents how to speak english first before you make anymore racist comments like "chink" you fucking idiot. Wonder how you haven't gotten banned yet using these racial slurs over and again?

Prairiegrrl 04-22-2007 12:33 PM

If you can put up with:
extreme cold winters
hot summers with billions and billions of mosquitos
high car theft
high crime in general
a city with no NHL hockey team
a CFL football team that sucks
a city council that rejects every new major corporation trying to set up shop here and most of all
the Worse roads in North America
Then Winnipeg is the place for you!

Toonlogos, if you are asian you'll like Vancouver. Lots of chinks there.

Toronto is quite diverse.

Newfoundland if you don't like the nappy headed hoes.

Calgary is cool if you don't want to pay taxes.

Montreal has a very european feel to it.

Kitchener is alright.

Whitehorse is nice, and quite cheap from what I hear, except for gas.

Thanks, that was useful info.
