Google Sidelines Adult From AdSense Program- AVN ONLINE BREAKING NEWS
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - Ending weeks of speculation, Google on Monday announced it would be implementing a new policy that would disallow adult domains in its AdSense for Domains (AFD) program.
Defining websites as "any domain whose name, content or advertising is lewd, graphic, or profane," Google stated that AdSense customers with adult domains are required to remove them from the AFD program by May 31. FULL STORY |
Ho god, some of us will loose their business ! :(
|
ouch.. :(
|
never had any luck with adsense anyways
|
it goes to show you,how unimportant we really are
|
Not as big news as it sounds at first unless you are into parked domains.
|
hm, interesting
now when is avn going to stop shit like this? http://www.avnads.com/mb/commerce/pu...&vertical_id=0 |
I forecast that AVNads / Adbrite is going to see a sudden upswing in sites on their network, which will drive prices through the floor.
|
I bet a shitload of people are going "but I thought Adsense didn't allow Adult" :thumbsup

If you would like to buy top porn search terms on Google come see me.

i hope i can get my deposit on that yacht back :-(

aww, so sad

adsense for domains. i.e. using adsense for parked domains for those with large domain portfolios.
that will affect exactly zero people here... unless you have those domains with typins and they are parked and showing adsense ads... or you have a massive domain portfolio and are a part of that program. the net effect is zero for anyone. its not like other companies are not going to happily step in and take that traffic. maybe it will be one with more transparent policies on payouts on clicks, how price per click is determined etc. |
wow this is fucked up
whats wrong with google? its just porn! |
that's for Google minus $1.000.000.000 :)
|
big money for traffic buyers if they can find where the new traffic is before other advertisers do...:2 cents:
|
Damn.. And I was just about to start with it..

however, once more advertisers come into the game (demand), the traffic prices will rise back to their market value because demand will shift out to meet supply. all will be right with the world :upsidedow |

That sucks....
|
Revsharing with 1 site that covers every niche can earn domain parkers more money anyway. For example, XVN.com's comprehensive depth and easy linking code tools, could land just about every domain in a portfolio with relevant pages...
|
I wonder if they will ever stop selling adult keywords on adwords? that would be a really big deal. hmmm....

1 was an erotic story site, the other had dicks dressed up in costumes for funny greeting cards - no porn, just naughty ... both had been using adsense for over 2 years and had been paid each check as owed but accounts were cancelled just as they announced the utube takeover. so I'm not sure what you mean ... i'd consider that closing accounts and removing sites for adult content would mean they didn't allow adult? |
Bad news for some, good news for adbrite/avnads and similar services.
|
Does YPN accept adult within their network?

anyone who buys adwords from google will also likely notice a difference as there will be less traffic coming IN to adsense , thus less traffic going OUT to adwords. I would think this would increase the value of those clicks. |

Publishers with large adult domain portfolios with high volume type in traffic have more options now than just automated PPC style ad sales, in terms of seeing solid, stable ad revenue.
There are companies, ours included, which specialize in this very area. The costs and learning curve for running a true online ad agency quality traffic selling business has been a deterrent for many players to jump from the generating affiliate revenue only world to seeing fixed monthly paid ad revenue. If you have a decent and stable volume of qualified traffic available, niche specific or general adult, consider the outsource options for making fixed rate ad $$. Much like direct staff, it can be very profitable at times to pay people who focus on on area of your business where you may not have the level of resources or expertise in-house. In some cases, the biggest providers of available consumer targeted and profitable online ad space are people and companies who have another means of generating revenue, but where there is a solid enough base of traffic to create substantial secondary revenue through paid ad sales. |
I don't know many people who did well with adsense. Maybe for the better.

haha awesome news! i recently filed a complaint with google, there was way too much crappy traffic on such domains, i asked for a 4k refund for traffic from parked domains
|
Its a good news for adbrite and people alike. Google has to save some $$ , since they paid big dollars for double click purchase.
If the ban all adult adwords bidding that will be a serious loss in rev for them , not adsense. Google also has been doing aduits on parked domains, good news for the adword advertisers though |
