How important is Visa to a new solo girl site.

I'm trying to decide if I should spend the $750 on Visa for a new solo girl site or if I should just wait a couple of months and see how it goes?

David.

ztik 04-12-2007 12:05 PM

"see how it goes" as in not getting any sales at all?

candyflip 04-12-2007 12:05 PM

It's a must have. No way around the fees.

JD 04-12-2007 12:06 PM

if you DON'T take visa you might as well just say "cash only" :(

shoeaholicanon 04-12-2007 12:07 PM

I have no idea.

Kevin Marx 04-12-2007 12:08 PM

Visa rules the roost... no choice... the $750 is an investment, not an expense

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 04-12-2007 12:11 PM

If someone has a Visa they have something else and if they want to sign up they are gonna...

That is the way I look at it, but the sheep around here think different...

modF 04-12-2007 12:14 PM

It's like asking how important is it to carry $5's, $10's, $20's and your wallet or just ones. :)

JMM 04-12-2007 12:14 PM

Over 90% of our credit card transactions are VISA.

Visa is about 70% of sales
but before to spend the money you can test how your site will sell with AVS http://www.bxdx.com

Anna_O 04-12-2007 12:21 PM

Only a very stupid person would start a sologirl site without VISA...

Anybody who has to actually consider this question has no business setting up any kind of pay site.

If YOU launch a pay site, it will fail.

I'm not being a dick, I'm telling it like it is.

that is like asking how important having a steak is to a steak dinner! :upsidedow

Always depends. But usually, it's an investment :)

Jennifer84 04-12-2007 12:32 PM

As someone who used to work in the credit card industry, depending on your region, you could be missing out on a lot of sales. Visa has relationships with different card issuing banks such as BankOne where they have to issue a minimum of 70% Visa cards at least that's what it was a few years back. With other banks it's a minimum of about 30%. So if you average that out it's pretty significant.

If you were talking about Discover card then that'd be a different story, but to not offer Visa could really impact your sales.

It used to be the big topic with the yahoo cam girls and they always agreed that they never lost a sale for not taking Visa... :winkwink:

Just how exactly would they determine that?

By customers saying.. "Sorry I only have Visa" :thumbsup

RawAlex 04-12-2007 01:17 PM

I just checked my wallet. 3 pieces of Visa, nothing else.

I would suspect many potential customers are in the same boat. If you disclose that you don't have full processing, many potential affiliates won't promote the site or program.

So, invest in your business already.

angeleyes 04-12-2007 01:18 PM

You willl lose so many sales without it, but that is just my opinion, I've only been in the biz for 6 years +/- so many of these guys have more experience. However, I have worked for two major sponsors and that is where WAY over half the sales come from. Also look up NetCash, and hit me up and I'll get you a contanct directly so you don't just blindly email support. Keep your options open, but yes, VISA is must IMO.

How do you know if you lose a sale or not. The people who decide not to sign up come and tell them why, every time?

I agree with most in this thread that Visa is an important part of the equation for online sales.

I have several credit cards and two bank debit cards and all of them say Visa on them, not a Master card amongst them.

BlackCrayon 04-12-2007 01:30 PM

if you are too stingy or broke to spend the 750, you should really reconsider the whole paysite thing.

Because most of the yahoo cam girls from back in the day of the user created "pay2play" chat rooms talked to the people that wanted to buy shows before hand... And most just had simple pages that they directed people to when it was time to pay.. All marketing was done by hustleing in the chat room..

IllTestYourGirls 04-12-2007 01:37 PM

only Visa's here. whats the site?

Ok, but back then, if I remember right, they could still use paypal for adult, couldn't they? And paypal took Visa. I could be wrong on that, I never bbought any chat time.lolol..

mortenb 04-12-2007 01:42 PM

VISA is pretty much the only thing used in A LOT of countries.. In Denmark we have access to other types of cards, but VISA debit cards is what 99.9% of us use. Are you only going to focus on the US as your market?

I am talking about after paypal stopped taking adult and most of the girls switched to ccbill...

Anyway, enough of this thread for me :upsidedow

MandyBlake 04-12-2007 01:48 PM

its vital i think. close to 50% of sales

Agreed. I just dumped out my purse and EVERY damn thing I have has a Visa symbol on it whether it be an actual CC or a debit. I don't even know where the hell my check book is and I would never charge jack shit to my phone.

I also agree that if you can't afford to take Visa, you should reconsider launching a site because it will drown. There are SO MANY beautiful girls with Solo Sites, all which take visa, there can't be anything so special about yours because they will just find another hottie that takes Visa. I've only seen about 200 of them, ALL took Visa. I used to be a site reviewer. (Writer)

having Visa processing is a must.

I would never sign up as an affiliate for a program without visa processing.
Without VISA your program would look like some nasty fly by night biz.

And you will be losing more than half of your sales
