the police came and arrested you because a security gaurd at a nite club called in and said this guy has a fancy watch, i think its stolen, and they acted on it?

if u bought the watch with a credit card, there will be no problem...Even if you paid it cash and remember when you bought it you can still prove that the watch bellongs to you...then you can sue, and buy yourself a dozen watches

First off, it isn't really prison. Prison is the "big house", where you get sent away. Not that it really matters.

Second, why would you tell some random person you're wearing a $5k piece of hardware unless a) you were trying to impress someone, or b) you were in their face and wanted to show off.

And third, what haven't you told us? You had to have pissed off the bouncer. Very rarely is somebody going to call the cops because Joe Blow has in his possession something stolen. Very rarely on top of that are the cops going to hop up and run to the rescue.
