Worst Business mistake you have made?

The worst for myself.... Trusting a third party credit card processor to be honest and actually pay what they owed us, 3 years ago PSW BILLING didn't pay us costing us a lot of $$$, we still had to pay affiliates and send the products to customers. Obviously you learn from them mistakes and MoreNiche now as 3 credit card processors and we are on top of everything...

U?

My biggest mistake was getting out of the adult industry a number of years ago...trying to get back in fulltime in this day and age is a real headache.

Trusting a human being.

gornyhuy 03-04-2007 11:57 AM

Following VC advice by spending money on huge office space, computers, and furniture before establishing a powerful sales organization.

Lesson Learned: Just because they are giving you millions $ to spend doesn't mean you should listen to them on how to spend it. THey are fuckheads. Sales always comes first, and only spend when you absolutely can't stand it anymore.

Biggest mistake - using iBill back in the day.

got a bigger one come to think of it not going with ccbill from the beginning.
That mistake cost me the 13 grand at the very least.

Paul Markham 03-04-2007 12:43 PM

Biggest mistake was telling Richard or Richards Realm I was not interested in teaming up with him.

Second biggest one was not coming to the Internet sooner.

Third one was not opening a paysite sooner.

Still you live and learn. :1orglaugh

pornguy 03-04-2007 12:45 PM

a 2,500$ investment that I did not make. I spent the money on parties instead, And I would venture to say, that it cost me somehwere around 14million a year.
Thats what my income would have been.

set partner account username/password as same with domain registar login info.
highjacked 6 domains that include 110k asian text tgp, 3 AVS, 2 gallery domains(around 170 galleres hosted) in june 2000.
it was the biggest and stupidest mistake in my life.

kane 03-04-2007 05:45 PM

I basically have two.

1. not working hard enough in the easier days. I was making good money and only working like 15-20 hours a week. I should have been putting in 60 hours a week and expanding.

2. a few years back I had problems with netsol and lost five of my domains. three didn't matter because they had nothing on them. The other two had about 3 years worth of galleries, avs and free sites on them. Lost about 70% of my income in one swoop. Not only that but people were blacklisting me left and right because the sites were now redirected. It took me months to get that fixed.

Quick Buck 03-04-2007 05:49 PM

not having started an adult dating site. that will change soon.
