Tough job, but I might have liked this as well. It should at least be a job that's not boring. Something that requires me te be focussed and involves problem solving...

madawgz 02-16-2007 02:49 PM

I used to do special make-up effects for the movie industry. It slowed down so I got into porn. Porn pays a few hundred times better, but make-up effects were always and will always be my passion. I'd go back to it if I could still make money in adult, and do fx.

CosmicTang 02-16-2007 03:00 PM

I used to teach. It pays a few hundred times worse than porn.

So when it came down to shaping the minds of our young people and poverty, or minding the shapes of our young people and making some real cheddar, it was a no-brainer.

Mediachick 02-16-2007 03:01 PM

Before I got into adult I was working in a humanitary center to help teens with difficulties finding a carreer. It was pretty cool.

Chio 02-16-2007 03:02 PM

czarina 02-16-2007 03:08 PM

I was a webmaster for IBM. If I retired, I'd become a writer. I'm pretty good at it, and I've always wanted to have the time to do it.

lazycash 02-16-2007 03:08 PM

Before adult, I worked for a large management consulting firm working with presidents and CEOs of small and medium size companies on how to improve their bottom line. The business education I received doing that was invaluable and has helped me tremendously running my own biz. I'd probably still be doing that, but I took a few weeks off in 99 and spent all of it online learning how money was made and decided I could make a go of it and quit my job and lived off of savings till I learned the biz. The stock market crash in March of 2000 hit some mainstream companies hard that I was working with and forced me to take a look at adult.

If I was forced to leave adult I don't really think I could return to an 8-5 job and would probably get more into real estate investing or buy some sort of offline biz.

I worked for the Sac County medical examiners office before I went to school for computers and networks. If I was to quit tomorrow, I would be one of those guys grabbing empty cans to recycle so that I could buy lotto tickets.

Here's how it went for me. Call Centres - Computer Stores - Mainstream Internet and ISP - Adult.

And now I deal both in mainstream and adult with most of my business in mainstream.

Worked in a computer shop before this. Was boring as hell...

AllStar 02-16-2007 06:06 PM

Mainstream TV and Film.

Its apples to oranges. The money is quicker in adult the money is way better in Mainstream just takes a little longer to get.

Wouldn't stop adult though given the choice.

EBORG9 02-16-2007 06:33 PM

Before I got in the Web business as a whole, I was a Bartender for 15 years (FL, MIA, Detroit, Las Vegas), and a Limo Driver (Las Vegas).
I will never go back to either one.
