Just got a new 37 inch monitor... (PIX)

I just got this new 37 inch monitor delivered from Fry's today for $649! The resolution is way better than I expected. It has VGA, HDMI , Composite and "S" inputs, so I can use it for everything.

I't an lcd hd monitor, there is no tuner, but you can also hook one of the hdmi inputs up to a HD cable box to get hdtv.

leming 02-03-2007 01:03 AM

Nice device :)

niche25 02-03-2007 01:10 AM

If I buy another monitor (I have few 21" LCDS side by side) it will be the new Apple 30", maybe even two side by side. Now I am just dreaming, lol!

It's too big for fine graphic work such as photoshop & re-touch, I'll be using it for audio production surfing & watching divix movies.

I have been looking into this monitor and found out that the actual hardware used in the Mac 30 inch is the SAME as the hardware used in the Dell 30 inch.

Notice the HUGE price difference.

Apple price- $1,999.00
Dell Price- $1,274.00

looks very nice

Lukke 02-03-2007 06:35 PM

LOOOOL you are using NORMAL TV with ultra small resolution for PC work? "The resolution is way better than expected".. Are you kidding? You are working on 1360x768 on so large display? For your information, normal 24" inch LCD monitor has resolution 1920x1200, 30" inch monitor has 2560x1600... The workplace you are working with is like on shitty 17" inch CRT. :-) Your TV is nice for watching TV, but for good PC work is absolutely unusable for 99% of people.

It's a TV not an computer monitor. Lots of LCD TV's have that resolution. Just looking at the pic everything looks huge.

To give you a comparison. An Apple 30" computer display, 7" smaller than yours has a native resolution of 2560 x 1600.

But whatever, as long as it works for you that's fine.

ae-sc 02-03-2007 07:52 PM

that's pretty sweet. i have dual 20's at a larger resolution each. I would imagine that its much grainer on your display since you're using such a low resolution on such a large display

Agent 488 02-03-2007 07:54 PM

nice meds.

illeana 02-03-2007 07:57 PM

Vitasoy 02-04-2007 07:39 AM

That is sweet, congrats man

HushMoney 02-04-2007 07:50 AM

If I'm reading right, that's an Olevia? Just be careful, They are low priced for a reason. I bought a 45" flat screen for my bedroom thinking I got a good deal and the thing blew up, literally, within 2 months. Thank Goodness for AMEX, they covered everything since I used my card.

Good luck. Hope that doesn't happen to you.

I don't even have a big TV in my living room yet LOL. I have two 19's side by side and its great.

Going for a 50" Plasma or LCD TV for my living room and a 26" for my bedroom in the next couple months! Pimp pimp!
