Anti war protest in Washington DC

Its going on now and Hanoi Jane is leading it. The organizers thought there would be between 300k and 500k people, there is like a couple hundred that I can see. They want congress to cut funds to the troops.

Even kids are speaking:
Quote:

Standing on her toes to reach the microphone, 12-year-old Moriah Arnold told the crowd: "Now we know our leaders either lied to us or hid the truth. Because of our actions, the rest of the world sees us as a bully and a liar."

Lets get it on...

Kids these days can't even put on a good protest.

Splum 01-27-2007 11:39 AM

Im just wondering where the fuck are these media places getting the polls from? Iraq? Pakistan?

I mean if SOOOO many people are against the war where the fuck are they?

Splum 01-27-2007 01:15 PM

Now these fucking kooks tried to storm congress...

Quote:

About 300 protesters tried to rush the Capitol, running up the grassy lawn to the front of the building. Police on motorcycles tried to stop them, scuffling and wrestling with some and setting up barricades along the front steps. Protesters chanted "Our Congress" as police faced off against them. Their ranks grew and several dozen shouting "We want a tour" broke away and tried to get into a side door.

Regardless when I posted the thread there were only a couple hundred people there, also they thought they were going to get 150k-300k lol. What a bunch of losers.

I am not a Republican I am a Libertarian but whatever helps you justify your weak point lol.

So let me get this right. These people are losers because they want to bring our troops home safely, and end this war that is costing us billions and billions of dollars weekly, and has absolutely no plan.

I guess I would be considered a loser then. God bless them for trying to do something, as opposed to you, who just posts stupid shit on GFY.

Actually if you read the article, the organizers said they didn't expect many people at all, yet tens of thousands showed up.

Apparently you're learning propaganda lessons from GW himself?

Wilbo 01-27-2007 02:16 PM

I'll bet there would be more people there if they had naked chicks. People like chicks almost as much as they like a good war :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

They want to CUT FUNDING TO THE TROOPS. They want to RUN FROM IRAQ. Its quite simple really if you cut funds then US troops suffer from that, logistically there is no way to simply RUN FROM IRAQ like you freaks want to do. You dont care about your own people?

Yeah and that small sampling represents about .0001% of America. Good try at acting like these people make a fucking difference at all except a good laugh.

The latest polls say over 70% want us out. Even the FOX news poll. Not sure what blog you get your info from, but maybe you should get outside of your moms basement a little more.

Wrong again there Einstein. They want to cut funding for additional troops, and start a phased withdraw of the troops that are there and redeploy them elsewhere. Like maybe someplace they can get the people responsible for attacking us. Or do you still believe Saddam did it?

A REAL Libertarian believes in liberty and peace for all. Not just for a few war profiteering elites in gated communities.

Libertarians believe in individual rights. Clearly there were few such rights in Iraq under Saddam Hussein.

Another classic thread scraping the bottom of the barrel of US domestic politics and with the usual wannabees and nonentities trying to excude some intelligence while explaining how my-dick-is-bigger - as tho anyone in Iraq or the rest of the world gives a shit :pimp

Bull hell... they can be worth the entertainment value - if only they knew it :)

DaddyHalbucks 01-27-2007 03:33 PM

Even if 10,000 left wing idiots, haters, and foreigners did show up, so what? Loving brutal dictators and hating democracy is just what they do best.

Finishing our job in Iraq is the right thing to do, and most sensible people agree. If we just pull out, say hello to bloodshed on a truly massive scale, and perhaps a regional war.

For context, some of the national Vietnam War protests were over 250,000 people, so 10,000 is a joke. There are that many people in your local mental institution.

Right.

Under a dictatorship, public opinion and dissatisfaction of the population doesn't weight an ounce in the balance. That is why they didn't protest in front of the WhiteHouse.

Fact is that anti-war protest was a joke and you know it. This country wants to end the war obviously but they dont want to cut funding to the troops or run from Iraq.

You dont have to be Libertarian or Republican to believe that pulling out of Iraq right now would be a HUGE mistake for America... but then again you dont care because you want the failure of America.

Yes, Saddam is dead, but his Baathist cronies still want power.

Al Qaeda and Hezbollah are waiting in the wings..

Why you bothering Splum? Sure, ya can take responsibilty for the fuckups and destruction along with everyone else - but don't try to get all constructive now - that won't happen and the track record has already proven total uselessness when it comes to constructing the decorations on a cake - forget having even an opinion on a country.

The US will make an exit from Iraq, not because of your, or the US opinions/fantasies/wishes, but because the US is not wanted in that region and the bouquets of flowers never existed. It was all a dream Splum - forget it.

Few care about how "HUGE" a mistake it is for America - it's not about America - it's about Iraq. I know it may affect your dick size, but that passes :winkwink:

Exactly my point only AMERICANS care what happens to America. We wont pull out as soon as you think, we will ALWAYS have presence in that region AND Iraq.

Nothing is going to "happen to American" - the US just fucked up again - we have seen it all before.

It's not about the finer sensibilities of America - it's about the total fuckups, deaths and destruction in Iraq. The "discomfort" America may feel is a grain of sand in comparison to the damage in the Middle East.

McDonald's is still serving hamburgers where you are - there is a lack or power and water in Iraq and 1000's are in crappy hospital beds limbless while others have had their families wiped out. They don't care about America - they have more urgent things to occupy themselves with and these are the people who will be constructing a life for themselves in the Middle East - without any assistance from the US.

It really is a very disgusting scenario all round - but, stay out of people's faces and they will manage to recover over time and organize their own affairs - they were doing this 1000's of years before America was founded and more than capable of continuing with recovery from this sad episode.

Unlike soldiers in your country most of our soldiers believe in what they are doing in Iraq, they love their jobs so much the re-enlist knowing they could be sent over there again. Their blood is not lost in vain they are fighting to continue to allow the United States people to stay safe at home. Their blood is none of you business either, you are a pathetic fucking nothing in the grand scheme of things. You may say the same about me but guess what I am an American and I believe the middle east needs extreme democratic reform, so whether I am a nothing or not doesnt matter because my "beliefs" are coming to fruitation thanks to my government and military.

Also on another related note.. today in America 100s of people died in automobile accidents so dont act like casualties in Iraq are happening at a high rate.

INever 01-27-2007 04:22 PM

The soldiers the US gov is recruiting out of Manila and Mexico are only in it for the money and the citizenship papers.
