SLOW, UGLY, FAT DAMN BITCH Enterprise edition RTM build 6000!

I love XP!

Dirty F 01-09-2007 03:10 PM

Vista doesnt run on a pentium 2 asswipe.

leming 01-09-2007 03:17 PM

I got fast machine Dirty, it is just no kind drivers for devices.
So it will work as shit on any comp

King Adam 01-09-2007 03:35 PM

Don't you know to never use a new OS. Always wait for the bugs to be worked out. I thought that was common knowledge.

borked 01-09-2007 03:35 PM

beta dickcheese anyone?

I was joking obviously :upsidedow

Sosa 01-09-2007 03:41 PM

how about waiting until they release it more to the public and let some companies create more drivers for it

Martin 01-09-2007 03:44 PM

Yep my gf bought a new computer with vista on it. It sucks donkey balls right now. Kept crashing and locking up and she's got a dualcore.

prodiac 01-09-2007 03:51 PM

I just built a new Core2Duo system, running Vista on it .. the only thing I couldn't find working drivers for, was my old ass TV Tuner card which always had problems under XP anyway.. everything else works fine, and Vista is running great.

The first few days were tough, there was a lot to get used to, and to get working just right ..

starpimps 01-09-2007 03:52 PM

i remember when xp was first out, so many things didnt work for it
ill get vista in 6 months

Now how the hell did that happen?
Vista isnt out yet.

We got a new computer for the office and got a coupon for a free upgrade when its released.

As long as you used "name brand" parts there are drivers that work with vista, and will work fine for most things.

People I know running vista that arent trying to do more then what they have drivers for find it just as stable or moreso then XP, and actually like it.

Opps sorry, thinking of something else all together. I was thinking of the new version of WE.

D 01-09-2007 04:36 PM

I'm hoping they'll have a good portion of the bugs worked out by Summer...

I'm hoping to pick up a Tablet-PC hybrid notebook at that point (paperless life FTW), and it'd be cool to not need to upgrade the oS for a couple years.

Z 01-09-2007 05:03 PM

I've got a free vista upgrade coming for the new Dell XPS I just got. When I get it, the disk goes into a drawer 'til summer at least. Then I'll install it and get all the new patches, drivers, etc.

cess 01-09-2007 06:19 PM

Works great for me.

PEBKAC

woj 01-09-2007 06:19 PM

I'm in no rush to upgrade, nothing really new in vista except the interface...

minusonebit 01-09-2007 06:20 PM

Fuck it, I think I am gonna install 3.11 for Workgroups.

I'll probably have to invest in a better machine before I take the dive

kaori 01-09-2007 06:33 PM

need a very good vid card for it..
my athlon 4200+ doesn't like 64bit without a 'real' vid card

There's tons of useful stuff listed on that page not just what you listed.

Always the same, "release" just means "pay and enjoy the public 6 months beta test"

stev0 01-09-2007 06:47 PM

I don't think you can upgrade from beta but I'm not sure.

4Man 01-09-2007 07:52 PM

I don't like those systems,So Ugly...

pocketkangaroo 01-09-2007 07:55 PM

The DRM integration is what will keep me away from Vista. It's unnecessary and a resource hog. Windows doesn't make their OS for users anymore.

Hmmm, i'll download it and give it a shot. I've got a code from microsoft for the beta testing program that is supposed to be good till June next year, i'll try it out.

Sambo 01-09-2007 11:41 PM

I like it - RC2 was shocking, but 6000 is great.

My crappy 1 Gig of Ram needs an upgrade though - which is a bit scary.
