i've had a girlfriend throughout my entire 7 years in this biz. i broke up with my last girlfriend (also by far my most serious) about 4 months ago, after almost 5 years. the first significant length of time where i haven't been seeing someone while working in adult.

I have been married for 35 years. I just do mainstream now, but when I was in the business (3 1/2 years) she hated it, as did all of my adult children.

My wife knows what I do, she's seen it all since I started, and she understands it's not a "filthy little hobby", it's a business.

She doesn't like porn, but then I don't give a fuck that her favourite orchids are in flower either :thumbsup

Think the hardest part is finding a new GF which doesn't mind what I do for living. You get tired of explaining what the business involves, how legal it is and being looked down upon because they simply have no grasp of the adult industry and thinks it's something seedy before you even explain it to them.

I don't think the younger generation bothers too much about what you do but the slightly older group of 35-45 have serious problems with it.... well that's what I've found up to now anyway.

Ok, I'm not a guy but thought I would reply anyway.

My defacto partner of 4 years knows what I do and he doesn't really mind.

The only thing that bothers him is that I make more money than him.

A couple of years ago, my girlfriend looked at a few of the adult sites I liked to look at... We joked that we should make a site like those. A few months later, she was really interested (even more than I was) and before long we launched our first site, her amateur site.

So, yes, I have a girlfriend. And yes, she knows... since it was her idea, and she works with me on the business and models for both of our sites. :D

Let me say, and I'm pretty serious about this: There isn't much hope for a relationship with such a big secret. Also, I think not telling indicates a degree of shame. Perhaps someone ashamed of what he does should find a line of work he can talk about.

My girlfriend of 6 1/2 years has been doing this with me since day one... both fulltime since the tail side of 1996 (she manages our pay sites and works on a lot of the new projects - I run the tech side of things). And yeah, she hates the business (lol), but only when stuff gets slow.

Both our families know what we do and none have a problem with it... and as was said - business is business...

Hahaha.....Ok I'm the wife here, and about 3 years ago I came home to a proud hubby who had just submitted his first gallery -- this was his surprise for me -- big smile on his face. I blew a friggen fuse. Luckily he was persistant and eventually, I got into the business myself. The families know and they approve.
