I would have put it in his hands. Put him in the car. Drove to the store. And allowed him to watch as it was returned. Then I would have taken him home and told him go ahead and open up the rest. As soon as they were unwrapped and he was all happy. Said there you go. Your xmas is over.

I had a friend who accidentally found a few of his gifts, and his mom returned them. She of course replaced them I'm sure, but it's supposed to be a surprise.

I have always enjoyed the surprise. A couple times I went looking for my presents as a kid. Never opened any though.

a mother using taxpayer money to raise her child because she cant. shes fucking dumb and so are the cops that went along with it. maybe the kid has some psych problems. desensitize him to jail early, thats fucking smart. the threat of jail is much worse than actually being in jail. once youve been there, its really not that scary. people are dumb.

WOW, that is a great idea. And if she had actually made HIM return it as well... would have been a perfect fitting punishment. And it would have had the same effect of 'getting arrested' without all of the fear behind it that his mother has now forced upon him.

when you have to have your child arrested over a christmas present, you've already lost.

My 4yo knows that if he opens so much as one present, all of his gifts are getting returned and santa will bring him coal.

Why even return the presents? Who cares? The presents are for him anyway. If he opens them early he'll have no presents to open on Christmas. That should suck enough for him. What lesson are you teaching the kid by returning his gifts? That you're an asshole?

Some people need to read the report before slamming the parent because it was the Grand Parent and the Game Boy was no where to be found.

Maybe if the game boy was open and right there for them to see they would not have gone this far...further, they never stated the present was for the kid. It could have been someone else's gift that was now missing.

i can understand this child being disruptive and what not but having your 12 year old arrested is not the example to set by any means. i cant belive this lady had this hapen to her child over an $85 present he was getting in 20 days anyway.:mad:

When I was a young kid I ripped up my parents check book. I don't know why, I just did.

My mom took me to the bank and had me tell the bank manager what I did. He was some scary looking old man, so I was freaked out. I told him. Cried. He lectured my. I cried some more. Then when I got home I got my ass whipped.

But I never tore up anything again.

with her kind of parenting, it's no wonder the kid is disruptive.
