well the law doesn't differentiate between a blog and a paysite or a tgp. if you have hardcore isn't it safe to have the splash?

i mean we all know that it doesn't indemnify you, but it can't hurt. seems more lax out there than it has ever been and the heat is the highest its been in decades.

munki 11-20-2006 10:45 AM

I still use them... Along with my ICRA info, and plentiful links to blocking services...

uno 11-20-2006 10:59 AM

PanchoDog still has them on almost all of the sites. There is an easy way to link directly to the tour if anyone is interested.

reynold 11-20-2006 11:04 AM

You should always have that in your site.

BoyAlley 11-20-2006 11:06 AM

We have warning pages on all of our sites. :2 cents:

BlackCrayon 11-20-2006 11:18 AM

i very rarely see paysites without them but i think a lot of people with blogs, free sites, etc don't want to use them because they would rather use a content rich page for the index.

Yngwie 11-20-2006 11:20 AM

I don't have them on my blog. hell, if someone types the url of one of my blogs, fuckherstupid.com they sure are not looking for disney stuff or anything kid related. I know it's still safer to have a warning page though.

Scroto 11-20-2006 11:20 AM

I dont currently use them on my blogs. I will be changing that though! :)

Yngwie 11-20-2006 11:21 AM

all my free sites have them though.

warning pages are overrated

Buzz 11-20-2006 11:30 AM

Splash page is just another way to show your ads to your surfer.. so why don't use it?

but you show peepees - that needs a warning anyways :helpme

fuzebox 11-20-2006 11:31 AM

I personally don't use them, I don't see the need, my domains are not deceptive at all. If someone ends up at slutsgettingfucked.com they should know that it is not going to be appropriate content.

Mr. Romance 11-20-2006 11:32 AM

we still use them

emjay 11-20-2006 11:41 AM

We will shortly be phasing in a geo-ip 'over 18' joinpage in 37 languages, complete with links to the new Restricted to Adults (RTA) labeling system proposed by the ASACP.

Watch this space...:thumbsup

The Ghost 11-20-2006 11:48 AM

We use them for all type ins, but for affiliate links they go straight through to the tours.

Example:
Type in Joon Mali
Affiliate link for Joon Mali

We can have the links start at the splash for any affiliate, though it is a bit redundant to come from a gallery or another adult site to the splash.

Is there a law stating you must use a warning page? What if somebody comes from a Search Engine to one of your pages without a warning page? How are people going to find your site anyway... if they know the URL or if it's a type-in they most likely know there is porn.

Violetta 11-20-2006 11:54 AM

this is an american law right?

crockett 11-20-2006 11:57 AM

Any new site I make uses a warning page on the index's. I still have a few old sites that don't have them, but I'm in the process of moving them behind warning pages. It's just hard to move sites that have established trades and SE traffic with good listings.

There may not be any laws right now but I can't see how a warning page could hurt. I don't force the warning page to trades or bookmarkers it's just for direct index traffic. It's nothing that would protect you but at least you can show that you at least tried to warn people.

rodney25 11-20-2006 12:53 PM

Better to have them than not having at all.

Teen Renae 11-20-2006 12:56 PM

It would be smart to have it.

polish_aristocrat 11-20-2006 02:55 PM

from a surfer point of view, I hate the "select your b-day" pages, it takes a good few seconds to select some random date and month and then some year older than 1988

I imagine some lazy surfers just close the window instead of bothering with it

No shit!

The warning page is linked to the main page and it's the main page that get's into the search engine and surfers click right in assed the warining anyway.

But, I still use them on all sites that I previously built with them.

seeric 11-20-2006 04:03 PM

yeah this is pretty much just a question to the level headed people that aren;t living on here attempting to find drama underlying the intent of the post.

it used to be that everyone made such a huge deal about warning pages. "wahhh wahhhhh if you don't have a warning page you will go straight to jail, blabh blabh blah."

lately people have kicked off on it.

by the way obsessive person always on my nuts you can stop cuz it really doesn't bother me either way.
