If you could DOUBLE YOUR INCOME by promoting spyware would you do it?

Ok, seems like there have been lots of threads about installs and spyware recently. I honestly didn't pay much attention to them, only noticed that there's mostly some will69 / DH drama.

anyway, let's see what are the morals of GFY'ers...

Poll is totally anonymous... :)

hjnet 10-06-2006 04:09 AM

Nope, I think honesty and some ethical standards will make me more money in the long run. And considering how many scammers I've seen going down the road I'd guess that I'm right :)

.:R I O:. 10-06-2006 04:16 AM

I'm totally agree what hjnet said!

Jakke PNG 10-06-2006 04:16 AM

I'd have a possibility to do a lot of things which would make me more money than I'm doing now, a lot more. But I personally am such an amateur that I only do things I feel are kosher.

fallenmuffin 10-06-2006 04:18 AM

Money talks...

en21 10-06-2006 05:53 AM

I will never do that

martinsc 10-06-2006 05:55 AM

i don't think i would... BUT if someone was to offer something really big - that might get me thinking...

Sveindt Beindt 10-06-2006 05:59 AM

No way,i run a clean biss

I totally agree with you.
Although some people who shall remain nameless don't have standards or morals so they don't give a shit what they're doing, as long as they make cash :2 cents:

pawsregd 10-06-2006 06:00 AM

Ya man where do I sign up :winkwink:

wizhard 10-06-2006 06:05 AM

No.

Not now.

Not ever.

I hope I see the day soon when those that act as Uncle Toms for these deceptive companies get exactly what's comming to them along with those that design these peices of shit.

IMO they are just as bad as the sneaky dailer download operators if not worse.

ImLost 10-06-2006 06:05 AM

never. . .

sixstringmoneymachine 10-06-2006 06:11 AM

I don't see the need (or upside) to spit on potential customers and royally sour them on my wares :2 cents:

notabook 10-06-2006 06:14 AM

Double? No. Triple? Maybe. Quadruple? FUCK YEAH!

Doctor Dre 10-06-2006 06:15 AM

Nop because I'm in this for long term ... and spywares definitly aren't a long term biz move... it will bite the people who use it in the ass.

jayeff 10-06-2006 06:20 AM

Anyone who plans to be in a business long-term and knowingly gets involved in things which will damage that business, is an idiot.

psili 10-06-2006 06:36 AM

Spyware pushers, like email spammers are fucking criminals that hopefully end up rotting in hell. Fuck them. The billions of dollars spent just putting up with their bullshit should be reason enough to hunt them down like the scumbag assholes they are and killed.

Just my $.02 :)

tranza 10-06-2006 06:44 AM

Spyware - hell no!

Adware: Still no, but I thought about it tons of times. And I know I could be banking huge if I was using it. I guess if I ever need some fast money I might try it, who knows.

Miguel T 10-06-2006 07:04 AM

Exactly what hjnet said!
Honesty is important.

brand0n 10-06-2006 07:06 AM

in a heart beat

you got somethin set up?

Elixir 10-06-2006 07:06 AM

I will never do that...

Klen 10-06-2006 07:06 AM

No way,i hate spyware. They somuch time fucked my computer.Fortunatily now i have ip cop and nod32 and nothign can pass into my computer anymore.

Dollarmansteve 10-06-2006 07:25 AM

I love it when people who sell porn have ethical arguments :)

If anyone wants to start a thread debating moral relativism - Im game

PS - doing anything that is illegal related to business is retarded. Also, there are lots of legal, opt-in installs vs. illegal spyware/malware, etc

Morals of GFYers? Are you seriously asking this question? I'm not surprised nobody on here has picked up on the irony and hypocrisy but thats ok, people in this industry are stupid..

Guess what dumbass, you're already promoting pornography for a living because it apparently makes you more money than a normal and respectable career.. But no, if someone is going to promote using spyware to make more money, that's SO immoral, says the porn pusher.. Wow Polish, I wonder if you've ever heard the concept of double standards? In any case you are completely retarded for making such a hypocritical thread..

Yeah, I'd hit that too.

I've said this before, "This is the only industry that pays itself to destroy itself." And for the record, I've never promoted spyware, nor do I intend to.

Sound ethics are good business sense. But something doesn't become an ethical consideration merely because it isn't illegal.

We all know what pisses off our customers. We all know that pissing off customers is going to cost us money in the long-term. Many believe that cost will exceed any short-term profit, so their opposition to spam, spyware, adware and all the rest, has nothing at all to do with ethics.

OG LennyT 10-06-2006 08:05 AM

fuck that... never

true .

s9ann0 10-06-2006 08:18 AM

if its legal who gives a fuck

Juilan 10-06-2006 08:24 AM

With stealware or scumware it makes no sense to. For instance lets say you have a 10K traffic source and throw them at 5 sponsors in a week. Lets say the cookies on those 5 sponsors are good for 1 month. Anyone in that traffic source that you hit with stealware will get infected and your cookies to the the other 5 sponsors will be replaced so you just fucked yourself out of potential sales and settled for .25 per install or whatever they give you.

it's illegal in some states. Including Washington state... If you install on someone in WA you can get in a good amount of legal trouble

Lets see what's wrong with this stupidity..
#1. This is about you not me. Only a defensive idiot turns shit around on somebody else.
#2. I didn't do what you just said because you know nothing about it, you have no proof, and you're a stooge that would rather believe something than go out and find out the truth, and it's convenient for you to use in this situation..
So how many times do you have to prove to everyone that you're a blubbering idiot?

Vitasoy 10-06-2006 09:03 PM

No because of combination of the last two

videodoll 10-06-2006 09:07 PM

no way, once i got surfsidekick downloading stuff and it was terrible. I had to hack my registry to no end. nothing has been quite the same since.

squishypimp 10-06-2006 09:08 PM

its wrong, but i can see where alot of people would do it for the extra cash. hell i might if there was cash involved.

IncaD 10-06-2006 09:28 PM

Spyware doesn't exactly make for a stable career. if you do it, you'd better be making enough over the short term to make up for long term losses from legitimate income streams that are in limbo while you work with spyware.

also consider that a lot of people who work with spyware or any other "immoral but legal" stuff usually don't have the ability to make that same dollar amount legitimately.

tony286 10-06-2006 09:29 PM

no i like to look at myself.
