Time for a new winter ride.Porsche,Mercedes or Audi?

I've had an Ml350 for over 3 years now.Other than one dealer related issue with the brakes it's been good in the snow and a decent winter vehicle for Wisconsin.I test drove the Audi and the Cayenne today. The Cayenne handles the best of the three. The Audi is a bit larger than the other two.But I like the styling. The ML350 hasn't changed much in 3 years.Only major thing was they moved the shifter from the console to the tree. Not a bad thing actually.

That Audi looks bad ass

spasmo 09-16-2006 05:01 PM

I'm leaning toward the Audi as well. I don't like the Mercedes at all though.

SubSonic 09-16-2006 05:01 PM

I'd go with the Q7

Sosa 09-16-2006 05:02 PM

i don't like how the audi looks

X37375787 09-16-2006 05:05 PM

The Cayenne is hideous in my opinion. I'd go with the Q7.

Nubiles 09-16-2006 05:05 PM

A class mate of mine is an engineer working for Daimler Benz. We talked about the ML a couple of days ago. He told me that the new model has changed technical and is much better as the old one was.

I prefer the Audi, because I think itīs more stylish, whatever it is.

Furious_Female 09-16-2006 05:15 PM

The Mercedes, in black

xLaborJames 09-16-2006 05:20 PM

I love the Porsche.

Minte 09-16-2006 05:21 PM

The only negative about the Audi, was that it felt a lot more like a truck than the other two did.

The Audi Q7.......

Yeah, I know how those salty/sandy winters can be :Oh crap White is great too. Even if its dirty, it can pass for off white :)

We have a burgandy mercedes (Just a C320) but I wish it was black instead. No more impulsive shopping! lol

Paparazzi 09-16-2006 06:03 PM

DateDoc 09-16-2006 06:27 PM

I think the Audi for room and looks is the winner without a doubt.

I like all Mercedes' except the ML, it just doesn't feel a solid as the others.

What about a Mercedes G 500? Fast on the highway, rock solid, and it outperforms a Hummer offroad any day.

If I didn't live in snow country and have a daily 20 mile country road commute,I wouldn't own an suv at all.In the 3 years the ML350 only has 16k miles on it.It's one of those necessary evils here.

Owww man this is a though choice. I think I'd go with the cayenne but maybe with the audi. I'd have to test drive.

tehHinjew 09-16-2006 10:56 PM

cayane turbo rocks but id go with something more gangster like the volvo that was posted(good taste dude) or an x5

Vitasoy 09-17-2006 01:42 AM

cayane turbo, would be my choice

martinsc 09-17-2006 01:50 AM

i like the Audi :thumbsup

BlueDesignStudios 09-17-2006 02:13 AM

Audi seems like a good choice!

Nylz 09-17-2006 02:31 AM

Audi Q7, for sure..

Minte 09-17-2006 05:59 AM

I'm surprised at how many of you guys prefer the Audi.Is it based totally on styling? I think on a snowy/icy road the Audi could be a handful to control if/when you start sliding around. It did not feel nimble at all.

Jakke PNG 09-17-2006 06:01 AM

I would get the audi out of those.

But I'd give a thought to the VW and Volvo too.

the source 09-17-2006 06:03 AM

Audi Audi Audi ! :thumbsup

We have a local dealership that sells Porsche,BMW,Mercedes and Audi all under one roof.Over the years I have bought a lot of cars from them and always get the best deal there.I like the Volvo and the Toureg.Just not enough to *break in* a new dealership.

Jakke PNG 09-17-2006 06:07 AM

Ahh ok, usually (in europe atleast) VW and audi's are sold at the same place. They're both really from the VW company, aren't they? :)

djroof 09-17-2006 06:08 AM

Cayenne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

timberlands 09-17-2006 06:51 AM

The Quattro in the Audi is incredible in the winter :)

Machete_ 09-17-2006 12:41 PM

If you buy it for the snow, the Audi is what you want. The Way the differential work on it makes it lightyears ahead of the two others as soon as you are one a slippery surface. The two others four wheel drive setup is made for dry road handeling, and is worthless in the snow. I would stear clear of the ML. A friend of mine runs a VIP guard company and they have bought those since the first model came out and until the new one this year. They have had nothing but trouble with it. But they have to buy the Mercedes, because that is what their customers expect them to drive.

If I should buy something new, It would be a Toyota or Lexus. They might not be pretty or modern, but if you try them, you would know why I reccomend them. The quality is second to none
