What's the ultimate sports car? (pics)
To me the 911 Turbo is the king! Not beacuse it's the best sports car for the money, I would give that title to the Z06, and not beacuse it's the best sports car hands down. There are faster exotics out there (not much faster) for alot more money. The 911 Turbo is engineering marvel if you think about it, this is a 3.8 Liter engine that produces 480hp and 500hp in "Overboost" and even more in torque. Yet can drive around town very and be sedate reliable and get 18-24mpg Amazing!:)

you hit the nail on the head.
EVERY porsche is a piece of art. they are 100 times more reliable then all these italo-racers and the handling is marvelous. porsche is the way to go if you are looking for a car you can drive everyday, a car you can go on the racetrack with, a car to cruise and a reliable car |

I agree :thumbsup The 911 turbo is a fucking institution... The design is timeless, and every generation is always at the top of the game.
I also don't think you can group any exotic into the "sports car" category... IMO a sports car should be daily driveable. You can't just start dropping names like the Koenegg which look like spaceships, are owned by maybe 9 people and only get driven to car shows and back. |
Err Koenigsegg :1orglaugh Can't spell.

This would be my pick

I cant imagine what the Turbo must be like. I'd settle for a Carrera ragtop, what a great car!
|
Those are nice but this thing just takes the cake!!
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/bugatti_veyron.asp 1000 HP off the floor! To bad its 1.7mil and only 300 or so were made.... |

Do you own a Porsche? Reading about them on the internet, does not make you an expert. Porsche doesn't tell you about Turbo maintenance costs.I go through a set of rear tires every 8k miles.Fronts do a bit better. An oil change on my Turbo runs $300. On my Carrera around $250.00.The Carrera does a bit better on tires though. I have had the Gallardo now nearly a year.I have close to 5k miles on it.So far,it has run flawlessly.Other than a lot of gas,I haven't had to spend a cent on it.The tires all around still look good.I won't need to change them this year. I have met a lot of Ferrari and Lamborghini owners in the last year, and the new run of cars are every bit as reliable as Porsche.Back in the 1970's Lamborghini,Maserati and Ferrari weren't that reliable I will agree. But that's 25 years ago. Most cars back then weren't reliable. |

In terms of the "whole package" being looks, performance, comfort and price I'm going to have to go with the Jaguar XJ220 - it's timeless! :2 cents:
