And although my original post may look like a shot at the USA, rather it's a shot at your ridiculous gun laws - specifically, the completely insane lift on the assault weapon ban.

Early indications are that these guys were using assault rifles.
The only people that should have assault rifles, semi-automatics, etc. are the police/swat, etc. and the military.

I've lived here my whole life....Know a lot of people here too. Never met anyone who owns a gun.

My hunch is that the guns came from south of the border (likely smuggled in) and it's a pretty fair bet.

There was an article not that long ago in a Toronto paper that traced a gun that killed a Toronto person back to Florida. It was just one instance but the article was alarming. If I can dig up the URL I'll post it here for inquiring minds.

P.S. I pray your 16 guns don't end up in the wrong hands ... that article shows how must guns that kill people were originally bought by good people for rational reasons. But through one circumstance or another they end up in the hands of criminals .. or pyschos like these kids.

Knives? No, it's too close and personal. If you know anything about what these crimes are about and what motivates them, then you'd realize that guns are the ONLY legitimate way they could have done this.
