Who owns the '07 BMW 650i ? (PICS)

Just put a down payment on it the other day. :thumbsup

Anyone own one? Any insightful comments before I go ahead and finalize the deal?

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure about this purchase. I was thinking of getting a Porsche 911 instead.. so many damn choices!

If you have pics or advice for me(I'm not educated about cars, I need help) go right ahead! :)

nice car... congrats on the buy

Should have just gotten an M6 if you're going to shell out the money for a 650.
Hefty price gap gap but worth it considering there is the 645.

Pimpin_J 09-09-2006 02:32 AM

Awesome ride! :)

both cars, the porsche and the bmw are awesome...

you gotta define what is more important to you...

more space, more luxury, more of an every day driver= bmw
more sport, more adrenaline, more feeling = porsche

adonthenet 09-09-2006 02:50 AM

amazing car! :)

Trax 09-09-2006 02:53 AM

both choices are nice
depends on your personal taste
i would go for the porsche
but this is because i have never owned a bmw but love my other porsche :)

Very true. I liked this older Porsche 911 Turbo, but couldn't fit.. I'm about 6'4" :disgust

I guess this 650i is perfect for me, I want tons of room and that sporty look.

yeah if you are a tall guy you have your problems in sports car...

i am about 1.80m (to lazy to calculate what it is in " :1orglaugh)

i can sit comfortably in a porsche but a murcielago is a bitch to sit in if you are that tall..

all designed for little italians

Nice ride, but I agree with the other guy... I'd save your pennies and buy an M6. I think you will appreciate it! :)

Nice car the 650, but BMW coups are notorious for dropping very fast in value. The Porsche has the advange in holding a much better resale value, the cabs even more.:2 cents:

BMW is awesome man. I love the new 6 series! This isn't as eye catching as a Porsche but its still a kick ass car!

madawgz 09-09-2006 11:41 AM

looks like a sweet car, take me for a ride someday :winkwink:

bdld 09-09-2006 11:44 AM

My dad just bought a Porsche about a month ago. It's an 06, since its the end of the year they gave him a great deal on it. He told me that Porsche makes some of the most reliable cars on the road and his gets 25mpg! You cant beat that.

I went out to his house a few weeks ago and took it for a spin, wow! Now I know what kind of car I want after I buy my house! His is just the standard Carrera convertible six speed. I really loved 2nd and 3rd gear. That thing just takes off and the handling is phenomenal! I also really liked the cockpit, it's a lot roomier than I imagined. I'm a big guy and have never really felt comfortable in midsized cars, my legs always feel like they're in the dash. And my shoulders always feel like they're against the door or right next to the passenger. I didn't get that feeling at all in the Porsche and you can fit your golf clubs in the backseat!

Those BMW 6 series are nice but imo these are two different types of cars. I'm not completely sold on the body style of those and I'm not sure about the gas mileage. BMW obviously makes a nice car but I'd go with the Porsche given the opportunity.

qwe 09-09-2006 12:12 PM

the only porsche i would take over 6er is 997 TT :pimp
but ya, you wont be dissapointed thats for sure, good choice :thumbsup

woj 09-09-2006 12:17 PM

very nice :thumbsup

Manowar 09-09-2006 12:45 PM

BMW has been slipping lately and I've only driven BMW's so Im not hating at all. But what Im noticing is that they have alot of odd creaks and groans in the cars especially the new body types. My brothers 545i hasnt been quite since the first week he had the car. Door seals keep being a problem across alot of model years, and the 6-series in particular is demanding a high premium without really giving much back. You have the same engine as the 550i or 750i and they are basically tacking on a bunch of money because its a coupe.

Personally I think that as a coupe it's too large to be very nimble, although the engine is great, as far as the suspension definitely test drive it, but it will be no where close to a Porsche, even with the M6, which again I feel is over priced.

IMO you are better off getting an M5 or a porsche. The M5 is the same price as a CarreraS and I think both of those cars give you your money's worth.

The 6-series is too overpriced just because its a coupe and its silly because they dont gouge 3-series (sedan vs coupe) owners that much, but they figure if you got the cash to play you'll spend more for it as far as the 6 is concerned.

Quick Buck 09-09-2006 12:57 PM

i've got an 06 convertible, love it... but why get a hardtop unless you live in a bad climate?

If you want a hardtop and arent looking for insane speed, go with the 745, i had one of those a few years ago and it was a great car. if you're getting the hardtop and want speed then go for the M

yes they are slipping, I had a brand new 745i for 6 month and i had nothing but problems... oil leaks, transmission broke electric issues. Nice comfy ride but I would never buy BMW again... I went back to Mercedes. :2 cents:
