http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/news/s...S PNHeadlines

One of Formula One's all-time greats reportedly is ready to vacate his ride permanently.

BAKO 09-06-2006 01:21 PM

he will be missed

boldy 09-06-2006 01:22 PM

Finally a spot open for Verstappen :)

GlamourGirlContent 09-06-2006 01:23 PM

Ah...I believe it when I hear the official statement on Sunday!!!
And I have to say.....I don't like him anyway!!!!!
But I also have to say that he really is the best one in the F1

axelcat 09-06-2006 01:24 PM

one of the best

onlytease 09-06-2006 01:26 PM

he didn't want to test himself against raikonen in a head to head. still if he does go he will retire as one of the greatest drivers ever. good luck to him, he has been a good ambassador for the sport!

Maxxx9000 09-06-2006 01:28 PM

Guys take it easy. Let's wait till he announces it himself. ESPN writes that their source is the german newspaper "Bild". As far as I am informed "Bild" is a tabloid. So let's wait for Monza this weekend and let him announce it himself...

tranza 09-06-2006 01:29 PM

Old news actually.

But thanks for the link.

L-Pink 09-06-2006 01:34 PM

Warren 09-06-2006 02:41 PM

He got tired of winning no doubt.

Jarmusch 09-06-2006 02:48 PM

I'll wait for the official announcement.

But if he does go, he'll go as the most sucessful F1 driver ever - 7 world championships.

Why not Juan Pablo Montoya left F1 recently to drive NASCAR.

Tho I seriously doubt MS would do such a thing.

Real blood 09-06-2006 03:14 PM

Yea but Montoya already has a history in US racing with Indy Car

DamageX 09-06-2006 03:17 PM

In the words of Keith Richards: "What am I gonna do if I retire, go fishing?" Don't think Schumi can stay away.

crockett 09-06-2006 03:19 PM

btw as a side note Shumi is about the only thing that could make me watch NASCAR.. lol so I guess they will pick up a big audience if he really did sign with them.

It was just a joke, I know Schumacher is to old to learn how to pass or drive in traffic ....

Spunky 09-06-2006 04:52 PM

Neither golf players nor F1 drivers are athletes, for crying out loud. Kind of like calling chess players athletes. :1orglaugh

Antonio 09-06-2006 05:54 PM

he told me that long ago, now all the mediocre drivers will have a chance

why do so many people hate is beyond me, simply because he's the best, I hear people saying - ok, he competes "dirty", he's not a sportsmen - cry me a fucking river, you do everything you can to win, period

and win he does

reynold 09-06-2006 06:24 PM

I will miss him for sure....

primazo 09-06-2006 06:52 PM

At last F1 will be cleaned of this guy who tried twice to win the championship by ramming his rivals car (Hill and Villeneuve) in the final race.

No offense dude, but that was a really ignorant statement...these days, most F1 driver are elite-level athletes. The physical demands of driving a formula 1 car are incredibly intense and these guy have to train up to that level.

nico-t 09-06-2006 07:02 PM

a few yrs ago f1 was nice i thought, but now i never watch it anymore.... it sucks
