OCCash RSS feeds...what do you think?

We haven?t done the formal announcement / launch of these but we have been playing around with them for a few months now. They are live in the promo tools now, but we haven?t really pushed them.

http://feeds.occash.com/?NATS=chrisstewart

Before we go full out with them, we?d like to get everyones opinions, comments, reports on possible flaws, something new you would want?speak now or forever hold your peace.

http://feeds.occash.com/?NATS=chrisstewart

We have a guy working full-time of this project, so if you need anything, we can most likely get it for you.

That is REALLY REALLY helpfull for the affiliates, if they take the time to implement it into their sites. I like thats it all in one page, so I dont have to browse through 5-6 submenus to get my code. Many have asked for setups like this for some time now, good to see some programs listen.

I usually think you are tasteless and would never reply to your posts, but this was just to good not to show my respect to the work being done to help the affiliates

Rankings 08-24-2006 01:34 PM

Very nice, ill be sure to get them in my syndication list

Cool man. I've been lurking in the RSS threads for a while...trying to get a feel for what people want.

We are going to break them down a little more to where people that only want new site announcemnets can have that, people that want tour updates can have those, and gallery announcemnts ect...or even combos of content. We just want to add only the content you want to your blog -- not take the whole thing over.

Adam X 08-24-2006 02:59 PM

Thanks guys, I appreciare the kind words.. lots of blood, sweat and tears have been going into this..and a few laughs.. its been fun.

Hope to see ya over here at OCCash making some good money and getting the most of out of these blogs. I'll continue to create the crazy articles if ya like those, as well as the new site updates, tour updates and gallery posts.

Outstanding work.

I will work on a syndication in Midget Army and add them.

MarcWomack 08-24-2006 03:08 PM

Great work Jay and OC crew. This is a great way to get traffic from the "blogosphere" and I'm sure other programs will be following suit.

Nookster 08-24-2006 03:14 PM

Niiiiice. OCCash has been added to my list of "sponsors who offer REAL rss feeds for blogs." Good job Jay! :thumbsup

PSGuru 08-24-2006 03:18 PM

Thanks man. There will be so many links going through these...you can actually customize them to match your keywords for your blog with Autoblogger Pro. Then YOU can get SEARCH ENGINE TRAFFIC and MONEY by sydicating our blogs. Adam already has a lot of updates in queue.

You can also DIRECT LINK these blogs from your blog. I know that link trades are a big part of blogging, but you can also get PAID for your outgoing links.

TheSwed 08-24-2006 04:55 PM

Looks great...will start to use them in my blogs :thumbsup

RF_Erick 08-24-2006 05:06 PM

Awesome work Jay!:thumbsup
Finally some good usefull rss feeds.
I run an ebony blog and can barely find ebony rss feeds.
You ROCK!

fusionx 08-24-2006 05:07 PM

Nice stuff!

Two suggestions..

Consider putting the full affiliate URL in the link node as well - AutoBlogger will add that to the Links section of the blog automagically, so it shows in the sidebar by default.

PHP Code:

<channel>
  <
title>OC XXX Amateur Blog</title
  <
link>http://www.ocxxxamateurblog.com</link>

That assumes that people can send traffic to your blog(s) and get credit.

Second, check the formatting on some of the entries. A couple in the feed used here are messed up a little - they don't compact very well in slammer display areas. These are posts that have more than one pic, with one formatted left and one formatted right. Check out the third and fifth posts here: http://www.vidcastrss.com/category/amateur-blow-job/

BTW - that's just a test site :)

Nice stuff - you guys got the categories right - most people don't bother to use them correctly!

Adam X 08-24-2006 06:12 PM

thanks for the info fusionx

Wordpress has a screwy wysiwyg editor so I dont use it, it doesn't do line breaks well at all.. I'll check into the coding you mentioned as well as the layout of some of the posts.. I'm sure there will be issues like this, but figuring out what works best and what isn't is key.. its tough to size this stuff up for everyone since blogs can have diff templates and article column widths... but we'll nail it down and make sure everything is pimpin.. :pimp

Hey man...thanks for you suggestions.

I agree with both of your points and will have Adam make note of it.

Miguel T 08-24-2006 06:41 PM

Very nice addition! :D
I have added a few feeds to my auto blog poster :D

fusionx 08-24-2006 06:47 PM

WordPress's wysiwyg downright sucks.. lol

It's just a matter of allowing things to degrade gracefully.. which isn't always easy with the limitations of RSS. Biggest thing is to try and not use layout tags more than needed and if you can't br after images, leave a space between the hrefs so it can split to the next line, etc..

I added you guys to viralwebs.com (yeah - I know - better add some servers, lol), and I'll add your RSS feeds to our resource site tomorrow.

Ever grab a feed that's full of broken div tags or contains hardcoded styles that override yours? that's a nightmare!

Fusionx...I'm not sure if you have an occash account or not, but you still have our house traffic ID in your RSS feed.

Believe me, we appreciate the traffic, but I think you'd rather get paid for it.

Yeah, I agree with wordpress wysiwyg is total crap. I had it on my blog but then pulled it out and we old-school. We realized the formatting problems early on and started stripping the blogs of a lot of the code. I think we could slim them down even a little more.

Yep, we've already got the queue loaded up with drafts.

If people have links to where they've got our feeds in I would like to see them so we can tweak the output.

Please post.
