The "drama" on GFY is getting old, old, old...
 

What happened to the days that I found interesting threads here that weren't about name-calling and tit-for-tat nonsense?

I would LOVE to bookmark this site as USEFUL and INFORMATIVE instead of "Days of Our Lives"

As strange as it sounds, there WAS a time that alot of business was conducted on this board. Sure, some people showed their true colors in posts riddled with idiocy and ignorance. But I still checked in multiple times a day and weeded through business threads, not drama threads, to find the ones that interested me.

I don't have the time, nor the inclination, to spend my day arguing or shit-talking with anyone. If I now want to engage myself on GFY, that is usually my only option. I find it boring and mindless.

Please...somebody, anybody....bring back the interaction that gave us all a reason to stop by.

It hasn't been exceptionally "Useful and Informative" for a couple of years now. The odd thread pops up every now and again, but you have to catch it before it falls off the first page with 1 or 2 responses and goes into the abyss, never to be seen again.

The search function is still a great feature though.

Anyone new here should look up some of the posts from Labret and Boneprone.Those guys were masters.

As do you. I'm not advocating a "leave GFY" drum chant. I'm simply *hoping* that more people interested in doing biz on GFY will show up and make a difference by posting relevant business and societal threads. Not too much to ask.

THAT, I suppose, is what I am doing to help the situation.

I agree with your observation 100%, the silly mindless shit that goes back and forth is ridiculous, but I just skip all the "step inside" and "drama" threads... But the "would you hit it" and "hottest girl ever" threads, that's a different story ;)

It started with SWOIT and the signature boom.

Well most of it is just marketing tactics. The drama for sig views approach is just getting old to some.

Just like a cool commercial on TV that catches your eye it can get old fast.

Even a company like Geico is slowly phasing out the talking gecko as its getting old. Look what happened to those Bud frogs as well.

Companies that use the drama approach for marketing will have to rethink there marketing approach very soon.

It got boring 2 years ago. I want to make sales for my company, I'm not interested in all of the BS. I just could care less.

Drama for cash has been going strong for as long as I can remember. Difference is p1mpdogg creates real drama, Jimthefiend creates lame ass posts that hope to grow up to be drama one day. Picking on the oversensitive know it all that backs clickcash no matter what and will respond to your every post is not "drama" it's a lame attempt at being cool and serves no purpose but a parking space for your signature.

Who said anything about intellectual insight? For a long long while p1mpdogg made up some ridiculous drama and every donkey on this site believed him. He went over the top to prove his "point", sometimes pissing off people for life or getting banned, and laughed all the way to the bank. Jimthefiend creates a thread of b/s and nobody buys it. He does however take the sigwhores backing him up as fuel to keep spewing nonsense and loling at his "mark". And he picks easy targets, p1mple was a no holds barred, shoot from the hip marketing genius.

Well, no offense to those of you that are requesting more business threads, but why aren't you starting any? Complaining and asking other people to start business threads isn't going to work because obviously they don't mind things the way they are. I personally don't mind the way things are, I don't particularly see THAT much less business being done because I still do quite a bit right off of GFY.

The only major difference I'm seeing today compared to 2, 3, and 4 years ago is the entertainment value. Guys like Labret, Gutterboy, Boneprone and his 5 million fake characters, along with the many other "characters" of GFY kept this place fricking hilarious. GFY doesn't make me laugh near as much as it used to.

Marketing genius? That's debatable. They have left a huge amount of money sitting on the table because of their antics.Take a real poll and see how many established webmasters won't do business with them because of it.
They may have grown from nothing quickly based on the strength of the initial round of *marketing* but the fact that it still goes on,suggests to me that they reached that plateau.Making the step to the next level won't be so easy.
