what the fuck? Hope you rang the RSPCA.
There was a crazy gypo horse trade sale thing up near me a few months back, they just appeared over night, thousands of horses, thousands of gypos.. It was crazy. Most of the horses were treated like shit though.
Crazy gypos

Bozena X 08-15-2006 02:31 AM

I think that guy is just really lazy.

Sarah_Jayne 08-15-2006 02:31 AM

The reason I was taking pictures was to try to get his number plate. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it in a picture. Maybe it didn't even have one which is more than possible.

Sarah_Jayne 08-15-2006 02:33 AM

and yeah, they craze their horses on the land the belongs to our flats..like the front lawn. Their camp is across the street with maybe 50 houses on a small lot. I have no idea why our landlords let that happen. This is a busy part of the city and horses don't belong here let alone grazing on crappy city grass.

Sarah_Jayne 08-15-2006 02:35 AM

duh..just noticed the number plate on the front. I'm going to try to zoom in and read it on the larger pic

If they actually owned any of the land the live on maybe it would be a bit better but to squat on the land and then force your horses to live in such bad situations is just not right.

Wiggles 08-15-2006 02:55 AM

wow that is crazy, didn't think they existed either.

DutchTeenCash 08-15-2006 02:57 AM

Nah, Gypsies can exist anywhere............down sewers, on rubbish tips or even in your dustbin.

Never met a good one yet.

Satan 08-15-2006 05:19 AM

Everything in the possesion of a Gypsie most likely (99%) of the time belongs to someone else, They steal everything and anything they can, One time we had a company coating the blacktop at one of our office buildings when the cops should up, the guy ( a gypsie) had stolen the vehicle from another state and came to michigan to make money by doing work.

Sarah_Jayne 08-15-2006 05:29 AM

My rent is amazingly cheap for a place like this in a London location because they live across the street.

jayeff 08-15-2006 05:43 AM

They may not be 'squatters'. Unless the law has changed recently, they have to be provided with camp sites. Those sites don't need to amount to anything more than a clear space and a couple of taps, but that depends on the council in question. The best known gypsy site in London is/was a space underneath the M40 at the junction you take to get to Shepherds Bush.

BTW gypsies have a couple of big fairs every year (one place I believe is Stow-in-the-Wold in the Cotswolds) where they meet up to trade horses etc. There will always be exceptions, but since many make their living breeding horses and horses are very much still a part of their culture, most are likely to care for their animals, in practical if not cosmetic ways.

slavdogg 08-15-2006 05:57 AM

was the horse attahced to the van or the fat guy ?

Sarah_Jayne 08-15-2006 05:58 AM

They don't own that land. They turned up about 12 years ago and started building prefab houses and moving in caravans. It looks like a mini-City of God over there at times. The company that owns out houses and that land has changed hands a couple times since they moved in and every time somebody new owns these places they try to get them off that land but it doesn't happen.

They then put their horses out to graze on land that also doesn't belong to them. Which in our area means the lawns of other people and some swamp land in front of a sewage plant down the road. Again, not their land.

Not many over there pay taxes and they the source of much of the drugs dealt in our town. About twice a year the police are over there doing a raid. We know because they have to block off the road to flush the drains for the drugs they put down the toilet when they saw them coming.

On bonfire night - and for like the two weeks surrounding it - they aim fire works at our houses. Last year a number landed on balconies and roofs. Not only at night but during the day and not only at houses but at people daring to use the car wash which was put next to their site after some of the land was managed to be claimed back from them. If you use that car was during the fireworks period you better run into your car.

That's disgusting treatment of animals

Damian_Maxcash 08-15-2006 06:02 AM

They have this whole "we can do what we like" attitude "and fuck everyone around us".

If they want to drop out, then fine - but they still need to concider those around them - or go someplace there isnt anybody else to piss off.

I couldnt live where you are with my temper - if I saw that horse being dragged along like that on one of my bad days Id be out there with a baseball bat, and it wouldnt have a good ending for anybody involved.

Sarah_Jayne 08-15-2006 06:03 AM

yeah but make yourself known to them and you better watch your step every where you go

There are about 50,000 gypsies in England and many more across Europe. They have been marginalized and often brutally treated for more than 500 years and large numbers live in poverty as a result: hence their mistrust of mainstream culture. The image of gypsies as feckless and dishonest is entirely contrived and has nothing at all to do with their history. During the 19th century there were movements in most European countries to stir up peasant-based nationalism and that was done in part by praising the lifestyle and values of the peasantry. At the same time, the contrary values of gypsies were demonized and that is the reputation which has followed them since.

lol - trust me they are a mightmare - I dont think they even see it as stealing - they just see it as a right.

jayeff 08-15-2006 07:17 AM

BTW there are about 1 million gypsies in the US: the first ones arrived with Columbus on his third voyage. Others followed in further "forced transportations" as Europe tried to get rid of its "gypsy problem".

I imagine they see it as fair game to prey on a society in which they have no role. I don't find that especially surprising nor indicative of an ethnic flaw, since it is pretty much how society at large operates.
