just got back from vacation (pics)
 

7 days with no internet or cell phone=great vacation!!!!

the boyfriend and i went up north (drove 4 hours to Rhinelander, WI) and spent a week on Lake Thompson..fishing, swimming, horseback riding, and even making smores by the campfire. to say it was relaxing would be an understatement. :) i think everyone should have one of those vacations where no contact with the outside world is allowed lol Nice mental break for sure! :thumbsup We already made reservations to go back next year (you have to book at least a year in advance to have the chance to get a cabin up there.)

it was much needed. i never had a vacation like this before. usually im driving all over the place, things to do, gotta be at places at certain times, etc etc this was my first REAL vacation, imo. im hooked :thumbsup

I would have to agree with you. I just got back from a trip and had nothing but a TV that played one station. That was my only connection to the outside world. At first we were like oh this sucks no TV but when I got back home and watched all the crap on the news I was like... wow It was like I was on another planet for 5 days because i had forgotten about all the little problems of the world.

I have always wanted to go to a place like that.

Reminds me of that movie the Great outdoors with john candy.

same here. when we were driving back home, about 30 mins or so into the trip back, we started to hear "2 people shot to death on the east side.." and stories of the alike. thats when we noticed how nice it really was to truly escape from all the bullshit in the world. we did get a paper up there but i think the worse thing we saw in there was "5 girls injured in horseback riding" (they were all fine, 1 horse got spooked and freaked the other horses out..nothin bad.) amazing how much a mental break it is to really GET AWAY from everything. :)
