Note to GFY ADMINS

When posting a large pic the board will resize it smaller with html and link to the full size pic opening it in a new browser window.

I think that's a good idea.

However the new window needs to have scroll bars. :2 cents:

Otherwise if the pic is longer or wider than the viewers screen resolution the pic is not fully visible and there is no way to scroll.

Cheers,
BV

Here is an example:

Click to open full size pic in non-scrollable window. :helpme

~Ray 06-23-2006 09:17 AM

I noticed that too.. thought it was something I messed up in my browser.

CDSmith 06-23-2006 09:18 AM

I've noticed this too, this is a good suggestion.

:D

u-Bob 06-23-2006 09:27 AM

Not at the moment, thanks for asking though.

candyflip 06-23-2006 09:44 AM

I get a scrollable window when I make the photo fullsize.

Firefox, on both Mac and PC.

Sweet, but unfortunately the overwhelming majority of internet users don't use Firfox. :2 cents:

It's not that difficult dude. just left click anywhere on the white area of the page (except the very top),, hold the mouse button down,, and pull your mouse down or up.

Bull Shit!

I have FireFox installed to test things but I use IE as my main browser. (since 1998)

Why? Because I feel it's important and plain common sense to see what the majority of my paying customers see. :2 cents:

Nothing wrong with my browsers. Does not work on either of my computers.
This is a board issue not a browser issue. :2 cents:

Wanting to know what your sites look like in IE is 1 thing, but it doesn't explain why anyone (webmaster) would want to use IE for the rest of his/her daily browsing.

The Truth Hurts 06-23-2006 10:08 AM

dunno why anyone is really arguing about this, it's right in the script to pop the window... "scrollbars=no"... so chances are, some people ain't gonna get them...

camouflaged123 06-23-2006 10:09 AM

It works fine for me..

perhaps it's because some webmasters have an IQ over 48, and aren't just there clicking every goddamn thing that pops up and says 'hey idiot, click here", or installing all kinds of warez they got off of p2p programs.

exactly, thankyou,
so common sense tells me they should change that variable to yes.

You dont need scrollbars to scroll.

sure, but the click and drag thing sucks.

no scrollbars makes the page up/down buttons non-functional, as well as the scroll wheel on the mouse.

still doesn't explain why a webmaster would want to use a browser with an inferior rendering engine, a browser that uses more resources, a browsers that's more difficult to customize, a browser with a lot less functionality/features,...

Maybe you can on all your pc's but I can not on either of mine.

The right thing to do here is allow the scroll bars. What's the big deal?

For instance, if this issue was happening in a paysite you bet your ass there would be scrollbars=yes.

Right?

Right

Yes good point

~Ray 06-23-2006 10:59 AM

BV,
It didn't work for me... until , I maximized, clicked on the white part and held it down while dragging to BELOW the picture, then it moved. but if you click on the white and don't drag to below the pic, it won't move.

CaptainHowdy 06-23-2006 11:03 AM

That ass made my day :)!

madawgz 06-23-2006 11:13 AM

its working for me :thumbsup

TexasDreams 06-23-2006 11:31 AM

I probably won't be fixing that, since it was something I came up with specifically for vB 3.5.x.

vB 3.6 should be at full release in about 30-days, and it has it's own image resize feature built in, along with the automatic sig killer function. :thumbsup

The Truth Hurts 06-23-2006 11:50 AM

...cause ya know... changing a "no" to a "yes" is such a monumental task.
:winkwink:

scottybuzz 06-23-2006 12:03 PM

yes hahaha true stuff truth

Wiggles 06-23-2006 01:33 PM

i like the pic that was included, great ass!
