Helpppp what must we do with this man?

TheLegacy 06-15-2006 09:31 AM

initially not the best diplomatic move, but presidents in the past usually become familiar and do joke with the press - and in all fairness - bush did do his best to make good by calling his cell etc. and no one was hurt - just more ammunition for the story tellers and late night people.

CheneyRumsfeld 06-15-2006 09:31 AM

you just can't fix stupid

Splum 06-15-2006 09:33 AM

I thought it was funny, the guy did too.

Manowar 06-15-2006 09:34 AM

that's a bit harsh

Phoenix 06-15-2006 09:34 AM

fuckhe just got a front row seat from now on

questions to be asked directly to the president..i bet that guy starts getting to field them

DWB 06-15-2006 09:36 AM

Bush is holy. One must remove shades and get on knees before speaking to him.

~mezzanine~ 06-15-2006 09:40 AM

That's hilarious.

Gabriel 06-15-2006 10:01 AM

This was an honest mistake, no need to harp on the man. The time he waved to Stevie Wonder was the time to laugh at him.

Sarah_Jayne 06-15-2006 10:08 AM

stupid comment but I give him credit for calling the man directly to apologize

Antonio 06-15-2006 10:33 AM

lol, just watched in on the news here, can't really blame him, he didn't know, and kudos to him for calling the reporter and apologizing

ilbb 06-15-2006 10:56 AM

I saw it on TW today too...seems like pretty stupid dude :)

BluewireAngie 06-15-2006 11:04 AM

american pervert 06-15-2006 11:10 AM

L0rdJuni0r 06-15-2006 11:10 AM

scottybuzz 06-15-2006 11:41 AM

mardigras 06-15-2006 11:46 AM

And his only complaint is that the president didn't answer his question at the news conference.
Good reporter:thumbsup
:upsidedow

MetaMan 06-15-2006 11:46 AM

who cares? it was a joke, and he even apologized, you can never cuss a man when he apologizes, it takes alot for most people these days to even admit wrong.

Son, looks like you're gonna need more than magic to learn how to start threads without the backfire.

pocketkangaroo 06-15-2006 11:50 AM

It was a joke. We've all made a joke to someone like that in our past without knowing.

Drake 06-15-2006 11:54 AM

Why is this even newsworthy. Small joke, honest mistake. Big deal.

Exactly. Who could ever meet the standard of perfection which the liberals expect from GWB?

In your eyes, I guess so. We'll see how history sides in 20, 50, and 100 years. With the whiners who have no solutions, only complaints, or with the people who went out and got it done?

I'd take action, even action with some missteps, over bitching and moaning.

I'm shocked (or, rather, I'm not) that this even got a thread.

Loryn 06-15-2006 01:02 PM

NO ONE KNEW HE HAD THE CONDITION. You think he made the comment knowing? Geesh you people hate him so much you embarrass yourselves. If someone you liked, like say Clinton, did that you would laugh and think it's was cute. But you don't see that you are not even able to stick to your own values because you let the hate for him over ride even yourselves.

Wallsten said Bush called his cell phone later in the day to apologize and tell him that he didn't know he had the disease. Wallsten said he interrupted and told the president that no apology was necessary and that he didn't feel offended since he hadn't told anyone at the White House about his condition.

"He said, `I needle you guys out of affection,'" Wallsten said. "I said, 'I understand that, but I don't want you to treat me any differently because of this.'"

Wallsten said the president said he would not treat him differently, so Wallsten encouraged him to "needle away."

"He said, `I will. Next time I'll just use a different needle,'" Wallsten said.

Wallsten said he thought that was a pretty good line. And his only complaint is that the president didn't answer his question at the news conference.

Wallsten, who is also author of a book coming out next month titled "One Party Country: The Republican Plan for Dominance in the 21st Century," had asked about White House credibility now in the aftermath of top aide Karl Rove having been cleared in the CIA leak investigation. But Bush said he wouldn't comment with another top White House aide still facing prosecution in the case.

The Republican Plan for Dominance, that's a joke. It's been Dem for the last 40 years or so now it's going the other way Rep, then when that goes to far it will go back to Dem. Our Founding Fathers set it up that way and it works. You need both sides to make the country great. If one party took over the country would fail. And one party will never take over. Dem's had it for a while, now it's the Rep's turn, then when that goes to far the country will go more Dem. It?s been doing that for years. A President only stays in office for 8 years if elected for that long, so if you are stupid enough to believe all the scare the media is trying to put into you then that is the worry your dumbass has to carry around for NO REASON. ("You" meaning general not the person who started the thread.)

This is WELL the fuck said, Loryn. GFY needs a strictly-enforced rule to post politics to a politics board, so the rest of us can just ignore the loonies, and they can blather and pat each other on the back all day long.

I wish they would go to another board with their politics. I am so sick of reading threads from all the people who believe the drive by media and the wacky Hollywood freaks. :helpme

I wish they would, too, but it isn't realistic to think it's going to happen. It's hard to understand WHY they do it, but you're right -- the political stupidity every 3rd thread is completely out of hand.

What's the solution? Is there ANY support at the home base for a dedicated political forum, so those of us who are tired of the ridiculous nonsense can stop having to see it so often? It would be different if you could just ignore the threads, but they're EVERYWHERE.

I've heard the "It's called 'Fucked Around & Program Discussion,' so we can fuck around" statement, but ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

You really aren't sure?

It's pretty transparent, for me, at least.
