I don't get it.. It's a tribute band, not the real deal. You're trying to say the tribute band has an actual Guns n' Roses recording on their site?

I have a demo of theirs somewhere ... on tape.. it has some cool shit on it ..one of the things on it is November rain without piano ..it had the entire piano part done by slash on guitar ... had a bunch of their hit acoustic also ..i'll have to find it.

I just listened to the version on the site and it's the same one I have on the old Demo. It's really GnR ..not the tribute band

Unfortunately he was a horrible front man. I think the success of Velvet Revolver showed where the real talent was in that band.

WebairGerard 05-17-2006 09:21 AM

They WERE a great band, would love to see the original lineup again.

RedShoe 05-17-2006 09:26 AM

you spammed my ICQ for this?

crockett 05-17-2006 09:30 AM

cool stuff I used to listen them back in my high school days were one of a fav bands back then when Appetite for destruction was released.

axelcat 05-17-2006 09:31 AM

thanks for the memories, wow gnr rock man

Tim 05-17-2006 09:34 AM

Interesting that they had that song back then, albeit in raw form

WDchris 05-17-2006 09:37 AM

there's nothing better than Guns n Roses.

RawAlex 05-17-2006 09:40 AM

Success of Velvet Revolver? Sorry, but while VR might be selling records and whatnot, they will very likely be just another footnote or another twisted little branch of the rock and roll history pages... a good band made up of good pieces, makings good and sellable music...

BUT... GnR for all the faults of Axl, the relative shortness of their career, and the many, many dumb things that eventually lead to their demise as a band, well... GnR had something that makes them a classic that 20 years after the fact people are still enjoying the music and wanting more.

I can remember seeing them play the whiskey-a-go-go in 86 when I first went to LA... fucking madness. 20 fucking years... that should tell you soemthing about the durability and quality of the band that was.

pornguy 05-17-2006 09:44 AM

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet

KCat 05-17-2006 10:48 AM

Why choose "tribute band" for the name? It definitely sounds like Axl.

Dirty F 05-17-2006 10:50 AM

I have all kind of REALLLLY old demos of them. Some real bad shit :) Funny to listen to though.

Thomas1007 05-17-2006 10:54 AM

Cool, GNR was the shit.
:thumbsup

WWC 05-17-2006 11:29 AM

pretty cool...always liked Guns N Roses

Twisted Dave 05-17-2006 11:42 AM

I'd like to say ... nothing about this is interesting ... I have demo's of :

November Rain (piano)
Novermber Rain (Acoustic Guitar)
Locomotive
Paradise City
Sweet Child O' Mine
Welcome To The Jungle
Don't Cry (3 different demo's)
Don't Damn Me
My Way Your Way (Alternative lyrics from when it was later entitled Anything Goes, and put on Appetite For Destruction)
Crash Diet

Plus a HUGE number of other ones ... :) All Guns N' Roses. All real. And all pre-released demo's from either the pre-appetite or pre-Use Your Illusion era's...

PLUS... demo's of Axl's new band doing:

I.R.S
There Was a Time
Better

... if it's Guns N' Roses you want... I'm the dude :D I've been a mental case fan since the old days :D

Velvet Revolver are an awesome band ... and Guns N' Roses was NOT just Axl fucking Rose. As much as I think he's awesome, I'm certainly no Axl nutswinger like some fans ... anyone Axl doesn't get on with, those so called 'fans' despise. Like Slash for instance... who wrote most of the classic riffs we all know and love from GnR...

Axl's new band ... while Guns N' Roses by name, is a NEW band ... they will never play the old songs the way the old band did ... they are a new band doing new stuff... and they have yet to prove themselves on record... we will see :)

Sebastian Sands 05-17-2006 12:01 PM

Our own Beaver Bob is in NYC right now, and is going to see a GNR concert (with Axl). He has been excited about it for a long time, I like the old school GNR and don't care for any of the new stuff really.. after Spagethi Incident it was done..

Joe BrainCash 05-17-2006 12:15 PM

Man,
I got to tell you to this day, I don't think there has been a band I liked more than Guns. I played bass in a tribute to Guns and it was fuckin great. Girls would go nuts and we weren't the real deal. If only Axl had the brains to match his talent....

webair 05-17-2006 12:17 PM

I hear they are in the studio now with rumors of slash and izzy back in the band

media 05-17-2006 12:23 PM

Old school GNR kicks ass... The newer GNR shit is WACK....

Dshady 05-17-2006 12:33 PM

Thanks for posting. That was awesome. :thumbsup
