How to start with no money in this biz?
 

A friend of mine hates her job and would love to start working from home, so I suggested she might try and dabble in adult.

The problem is, she's broke as fuck, has very little experience with websites and doesn't seem to want to get naked for money. I tried to lend (give) her some money to get started, but she won't take it.

So, anyone got some ideas on how she could get started? I thought about a few simple blogs, but her English is pretty bad (it looks like Dutch translated to English through Babelfish). Galleries might be an idea, but I doubt she even has enough money to pay for hosting right now.

She's a hard worker, though.

Any ideas?

have her sit a computer of yours and submit for 5 hours a day til she gets the hang of everything. using your hosting, sponsors she signed up to under you, your partner accts/submitting software - then move on from there

Hmm. Now that might be an idea. I'm just a little scared she'll start crying when she introduces herself and people tell her to go fuck herself. She's a rather, ehm, sensitive girl. Gives a mean blowjob, though.

i'm sure theres gotta be a prog out there that needs someone to do a bunch of grunt work...like crop thumbs for them or even submiot their galleries

who says she has to pay for hosting? Most sponsors give free hosting. The only out of pocket money would be the domain name.

That could be an idea. I'm not a gallery submitter myself, though, so I'd have to trick her into believing I "already had" the submitting software, and maybe get her her own dedicated server without her knowing about it. It could work, though.

Still, I'd prefer it if I could just help her with something she could really be "independent" with. That seems to be what she wants most.

-Signup with a sponsor that uses free hosting.
-Use the free hosting.
-Buy her a copy of chameleon submitter and tell her she'll pay you back when she gets her first check.
-Teach her how to submit 10 galleries a day using said sponsor.

She probably won't bring in many sales, but she will get *some* and she can use that money to pay you back and build her partner account database.

I look forward to the "buy 1000 domains and buy content and hosting and traffic and then hire a designer and start building sites" comments.

Those always amuse me when someone asks how to make some $ without starting with $.


Just tell her to keep her job, or get a different one.. part time possibly. Something to suppliment her start and what ever money she makes from galleries/freesites/blogs, put it back into building this up. She can start with freehosting, start with small stuff. Make $20 one month on a signup or something, put that back in, do more.. make $40... put that back in, start to grow with some better hosting or domains... and make $80.... and keep growing.

It's not a get rich scheme, it won't always work out that way... but eventually, one income can grow to over take the other income.

I actually think she probably does have some business sense. She just never applied it to business before, only to charities and stuff like that.

I started as a poster and it cost me approx. $20 and then parlayed that into $150 and then just kept going....

Ok, I've decided what I'm gonna do:

I'm going to get her her own review/linklist. I'll do the design and coding, get her hosting and give her some initial traffic, and all she'll have to do is put up links, review sites and manage linktrades. She won't make much in the beginning, but in the long term, it should make her a decent buck. Enough to build on, anyway.

That was what I was going to suggest, but have her do it in her native language.

Teach her how to be a sig whore. That will raise some money.

Then click on my webmaster links and sign up for some affil programs... buy some content... make some galleries... submit to TGPs.

Rinse, wash, repreat.

Or, if nothing else set her up with a sponsor who offers free hosting. Pretty safe way to not lose any money IMO.

Not if she was to go with www.revsharehosting.com they will provide a domain for her.

I promised to help her next month, going to China on sunday and I've been too busy for the past few weeks to spend any time on her.

Get her started on galleries ... get her hosting @ dreamhost ... with promo code gofuckyourself it will be like 25 $ for the year with a domain included...

It won't be really good hosting, but at least she'll have somewhere to start.

I started in this industry in 1995 with a single free site, hosted on Geocities. Back then things were much easier.

I started my blog last September. It cost me nearly nothing to create the blog, and it's hosting costs me little to nothing. I write in it daily, when I feel like it, and it's getting ten sales a day mostly to Lightspeed Cash and FTV girl sites.

tell her "it takes money to make money". So spend the $20 for hosting and then $20 for Chameleon, & then submit 2 gallereies a day.

If she really wants to make decent money working from home, all she needs is a webcam...

why woud you send someone with no money in adult? it's not like she's going to MAKE money here......
