I'm Zoloft and Wellbutrin....
but just not getting the same relief I used to get

do those really work? is it like taking E?

Seriously... all that stuff is utter shit unless any competent doctor considers it life-threatening and necessary.

Trying to find a competent doctor may get depressing tho...

While I agree with you to a certain degree, I doubt you've ever required anti-depressants.

Zoloft is my best friend.

Most pills (SSRI's etc) are no better than placebo, according to many studies.

Try regular physical exercise.

Ive been on Venlafaxine for a while - way better than the other ssri I have tried.

Again, unfounded. It depends on what they're being used to treat.

Yep, most people who discourage the use of anti-depressants have no first-hand experience with issues that may require them.

I'm not trying to win the anti-depressant marathon/championship I'm just trying to find something to help dull the pain I feel everyday...
I've been drinking to dull the pain but I've got enough sense to know that thats not the "smart" thing to do

That sounds great in theory. The problem is, if you are at a stage where you need an anti-depressant, odds are you aren't able to pull yourself out of the mire to do things that can help, like exercise, meditation, healthy diet, etc. :)

About an .5 ounce of lead traveling at a high volocity impacting the the skull does the trick.

That stage of depression is actually good for those with thoughts of suicide... As they can't even get enough will power to do the job. But at soon as they begin an anti-depressant treatment it'll put them right above that stage and they can do it. :(

You head the nail on the head woj - and it's not just what appears to be half of GFY on "medication".

The usage of cocktails of pharma products, especially in the US, is certainly not related to improved health standards.

Last I heard, over 50% of folks were on "medication" of some kind. Either the US is the most unhealthy location on the planet or folks are being sold shit they do not need - and probably cause them damage.

Not sure it's ONLY in the US, but I do know, it's totally different in The Netherlands... In the US ppl seem to like medication for all their issues...

Antidepressants basically kill your emotions. They do not fix you. Think of it as taking away all your emotions, and making you into a zombie. The problem is, that while you are like that, you are not addressing, or changing the issues that had gotten you to that point in the first place.

Unless you are seeing a psychotherapist and working on the underlying issue, you will never get better. Antidepressants should be nothing more than a quick fix at the beginning if you are having grief, like death of loved one, etc, where you can't function.

But you should wane yourself off of them ASAP as you learn to confront your demons, and find new coping techniques. Otherwise, when you stop taking them, the same problems are there. So you accomplished little in happiness.

In fact the best is, and not the worst like many believe, Prozac/Fluoxetine. It depends what you are being treated for but Zoloft works bad in many cases (nickname is "SoSoft"). Efexor I would not recommend at all as its basicly a coctail to treat ppl with "undetermined" "problems" etc.

Wellbutrin, dont know much about it, but since its also used for ppl trying to quit smoking... I dont know. Paxil (Seroxat, Paroxetine), often give more unwanted effects like dizzines, fatigue, dry mouth etc than the others.

Xanax, Valium, Benzos - just forget about them. Like I said, depends on what you are being treated for. If you are mano depressive for instance, Lamictal (lamotrigin) helps you far more than the meds mentioned above.

Yeah, and a few years later you will need heeps of ssri to feel like human being.
