Thats good, it means less competition for those of us who submitted domains over the last couple of hours ;)

Its on a 1st come 1st served basis so as long as your domains you selected showed up as 'taken' after you submitted the order, you wont have any probs with them :thumbsup

Lee

the sunshine period is the short answer. the long answer involves a few cartels that geared up big for this.

If you check the different registrars....

You'll notice that they are showing domains such as sex.eu as free, the ONLY registrar that is updating in real-time right now is EuroDNS.

So you are correct, if you are registering them other than at EuroDNS you are playing a lottery.

Lee

Im thinking Enom. I know a lot of people were pre-registering thru them.

polish_aristocrat 04-07-2006 03:01 AM

Soul Rebel, I pre-ordered about 25 names via Dotster, but no sign from them yet.

Did you get anything from them? Or do you think they fucked up?

FuqALot 04-07-2006 03:03 AM

It is going to be some time before you really know you have the domains. Even if you register now its still pre registration. It's lottery, even at the official registar.

Brujah 04-07-2006 03:03 AM

Damn, Lee you should've sent them to Godaddy or something lol

i just registered few so its early to say. It's very possible those were taken already so nothing won't happen. eurodns site loads slow as shit. In worst case I guess the'll refund the registration fees.

You'll know in 24 to 48 hours? I wouldn't trust it. I'd try elsewhere too.

Where do you come up with this shit?

From Friday anyone within EU can register their own .eu Internet domain name
04 Apr 2006
Several hundred thousand new .eu domain names expected when
EURid opens at 11:00 on Friday

The new Internet top level domain .eu was introduced in December last year, but
until now only holders of prior rights have been eligible to apply for their protected
names. From Friday though, it is possible for anyone within the European Union to
simply register whatever available .eu domain name they want on a first come first
served basis.

Brujah 04-07-2006 03:09 AM

I'm almost finished. If anyone wants a list of the best available names to try and grab, $50 paypal + icq me.

It actually opens at 10am GMT which was 9 minutes ago :winkwink:

As i mentioned above, if you pre-order over the past few hours and re-checked and noticed the domain you pre-ordered suddenly changes to 'taken' on EuroDNS you have nothing to worry about :thumbsup

First come first serves, means just that :winkwink:

Lee
