Phoenix 04-05-2006 02:45 PM

dude if you cant even clean your own computer...you might be in the wrong business

four years and counting and not a single reply from clickcash..bravo

gfx3 04-05-2006 02:46 PM

what is the name of the virus on your system? What are the sites you get the popups from? What are they advertising?
If you know this search for it on google. You will probably be not the only one who has this on his system so the solution for your problem will be on google.

You can also try a spyware sweeper to get the garbage of your system.
Why are you blaiming people on these boards for your problem? 99.5% of the people here aren't making money with installing or spreading spyware.
I am only helping you out because I hate spy and adware myself.

Trax 04-05-2006 02:46 PM

wtf are you talking about, how does one relate to the other? how does a pop up every couple minutes stop me from doing my work, on this particular computer ( i do own more then 1 pc btw lol) It is just annoying as all hell that people get away with doing this shit. worse then spam, i would rather an inbox of spam over pop ups that come up when you in the middle of doing something even when you are not surfer the net, i could be typing an email and shit pops up.

1. Think back to the date when you first noticed it happening.
2. Now do a Windows system restore to a date before that.

Violetta 04-05-2006 02:57 PM

spyware sucks bigtime. I got it the other day when I tried to find a serial code! Had to format my computer.

read the tittle of my post again. I am only blamming the people this applies to, if it applies to no one here then I am just venting. I am sure there is at least 1 or 2 people on this site that are in this type of advertising.

funny since this post it hasn't happened. I will post what it is when it happens next time.

andrej_NDC 04-05-2006 03:01 PM

btw this is the best spyware removal I ever used
http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/

Spybot, Spyhunter, Spykiller, Ad-aware, Trojanhunter, etc all suck, they can't remove the worst shit

pocketkangaroo 04-05-2006 03:35 PM

Would it happen to be WinFixer? I feel your pain, I've come across some nasty shit in my day too. Unfortunately, many of these sites work over in Russia or somewhere where they just don't care.

Spybot Search and Destroy does the job for me.

both worthless...well they help with the newbie spyware but not with the good ones

Furious_Male 04-05-2006 04:13 PM

Restore doesn't usualy help as a lot of the trojans use restore to reinfect after a cleaning.

Disable system restore boot into safe mode and run your scans. Ad-aware is ok but there are plenty of others as well. MS has that windows defender which cleans well.

If you know what you are doing use HiJack This! as well. Be sure to reboot and re-scan a few times. When you are sure it is clear reneable system restore.

i use spybot and it fixes a lot of shit, however it does not fix this. I looked into this when i first got it, was told then by a lot of people only way to fix it was to reformat. Pisses me off I have to waste my time to fix something that some asshole put on my pc.

this shit should be illegal, worse then any form of spam. I just don't understand how someone signs up to something when it pisses them off so much, how do these guys make money and how do the programs they push allow them to advertise using this method.

Take note you assholes, a fucking UNINSTALL option would be a mightyfucking kind option.

Young 04-05-2006 04:25 PM

Furious: i've yet to encounter a trojan that attacks my restore, but then again I am very careful with the sites I go to, and hardly ever use IE. But the two times I have used restore it has worked perfectly.

If you are not going to do a restore, the only thing I would recommend besides a format...is to give Spyware Doctor a try. Download.com used to offer a 30 day trial with cleaning enabled...but now cleaning is not enabled...only scanning.

kristin 04-05-2006 04:29 PM

I had it on my computer ... I don't know how the hell it got on there either. I like to blame my parents when I was gone and they were watching my kids.

Funny thing is ... keep watching the popups ... you'll notice some very big adult programs.

And when you do find that one adult program, grab the link and send it to them...oddly enough they can tell you how to get it off your machine fast.

thats a good point. I've seen adult friend finder on it a few times (amoung other adult companies) next time I will get their aff code and send it to Lars, I am sure he can find out who they are and see if we can get a fix for this shit.

Furious_Male 04-05-2006 04:36 PM

Young it is not so much that they attack system restore but they can be saved in system restore at different restore points.

What trojan is it Will?

pocketkangaroo 04-05-2006 04:37 PM

I've seen AFF on most of the spyware I've gotten installed. I do feel your pain though, I seriously would have killed the guy who created WinFixer. That was some of the nastiest shit I've ever seen.

As for reporting it to the sponsors, I'd imagine they already know.

Spunky 04-05-2006 04:38 PM

Usually those free spyware removal programs won't remove all traces..some are nasty

tranza 04-05-2006 04:42 PM

I'm almost 100% sure that the program you're always spamming and saying they are great promote adwares.

Maybe you got it from them?

We tried everything to get it off my computer, and I mean EVERYTHING. I sent the link to the company I found the popup ad for, they told me exactly what to look for. It was buried deep in my computer.

So they know it's on there ... too bad that's how they make their money.

will76 04-05-2006 05:14 PM
