.XXX Passed Get Ready For the Ghetto.....
Fucking bullshit....
Senators Baucus and Pryor Author Bill to Create Mandatory Adult TLD by Q. Boyer WASHINGTON, DC ? Senators Max Baucus (D-MT) and Mark Pryor (D-AR) introduced new legislation today that would serve to require websites that contain ?material that is harmful to minors? to operate from a new Top-Level Domain. The senators suggest .xxx as an example of such a domain, and a press release on Pryor?s website makes it clear that this bill is targeting adult entertainment, despite the fact that the language of the bill would require sites that offer other forms of ?harmful matter? to operate from the new TLD, as well. Read the rest of this nonsense here... |

where do you get that it passed?
|
Would change everything and everyone would be in court :2 cents:
|
Mike, it was not passed, it is just proposed.
|
Maybe someone fighting against this will take my earlier thoughts on an easier solution to protect the children into consideration.

Result will be that more and more companies move offshore, that would be my guess anyhow.
|
such bs...i dont think it will stand...even if it passes , it will be appealed
|
can someone please explain to me how .xxx will stop kids from looking for porn? Won't that just make it easier to find?
|
bullshit

fairly easy, ISPs will provide an option to stop resolving all .xxx domains and boom, you are gone. |

Well they are inching closer and closer...... |

Started as a money making deal ...now the Govt got involved...its a mess. First time .XXX was proposed was turned down, then showed back up like a bad penny, amazing it all of sudden had new founded interest..gee I wonder why? |
The Supreme Court will have a field day blowing this one out of the water, if it even gets that far.
|
I always wondered why .xxx domains are a bad thing? Everyone seems to be upset by them, Webmasters AND the Bush Administration alike. Would it push ALL porn sites into the .xxx level domains and ban them from using anything else?
If this .xxx thing does go through (and the Bush Administration won't let that happen from what I read), it's going to be a nasty, crazy landrush. |

how so? they are behind these proposals most of the time. |
This shit is stupid. What about all the squatters who will be snapping up the .xxx domains. Not to mention the sky high registration fees vs .com. Im glad im not living in the states thats for sure.

Here's an article I read the other night about it. This was in August 05, about 4 months before .xxx domains were ORIGINALLY supposed to open up. |

.xxx story has been going on a good 6-7 years now. The republican voices against it are the most radical seeking complete disappearance of online pornogrpahy; at least in the form you experience it right now. In order to achieve it they throw cp in the mixer and make a salad.

You have a point soul rebel. In that case I wish I was living in the states so I could help vote these pissants out of office. Shame on those here who voted Republican.

If you will recall, the administration was against it the last time it came up. This time it is the Democrats that are proposing it. One thing on our side is that the Dems are not very good at getting things their way lately. |
Democrats are not far better and I suspect a switch to some conservative principles to lure votes.

Again, the administration is not for it. |

hum.....
|
NO way this will stand.
|
Democrat/Republican in most cases they are no different. You must remember this is a Christian country blessed by God. Anything that infringes on the good God fearing morals this country is based on will be attacked by both parties.

just another 2257 stunt
the US government can do whatever it likes in the US, but the rest of the world will do whatever it wants, regardless |
You scared me to death, this is old news, and it didn't pass.

how many of you guys pre-registered .xxx domains? Would you personally be better off or worse off if this became law?
|
If the adult industry had the NRA on it's side, this would not only never pass - it would never be proposed ... (No, I don't condone the NRA - just the point that as "community" the adult industry has many $$$ millions but I think, zero political influence)
