just moved to a new office and ***
Just moved to a new office and the lights have a sensor ... I thought it was cool ... I walk into the room the lights come on ..i walk out ..they go off in a few Min's ... only problem is that when your sitting in your desk typing for a long time the motion sensor doesn't pick me up and the fucking lights shut off ... i have to get up and do a little dance in the middle of the place to get them back ... i have to move that sensor so it's closer ...
anyone else have these switches ...:Oh crap |

If that's the case...the lights over at MobBucks should ALWAYS be on seeing how you guys have been tap dancing around this Lia/Josie situation. :batman

BTW, I'm a long time poster, first time lurker.

haha.. I used to have that same problem in an old office of mine... If I was working at my desk or just reading some paperwork too long the lights would shut off... It also sucks after a long night and having to go in the office, if you take a little "cat nap" at your desk then its VERY obvious if someone else walks in on you and your lights are off or if they can see your lights are off for any extended time.. I could not move the sensor so I got into the subconscious habit of waving my arms in the air like a spaz every 4.5 minutes so the lights would not turn off...

I have them in the bathrooms. Take a long shower and its lights out. Mine does have a override switch but I forget to use it.

On topic, why not install a clapper? As cheesy as it sounds, those fuckers work. |

Practice you must, a good technique you will learn. |
All jokes aside, I have no problem with Mobbucks. I'm just trying to be funny. Hopefully no offense is taken.
Hell, I'm a newbie. The only thing I know is what I've read for the past 4 or 5 days. |

I can understand why someone would opt for a feature like that to save on the electric bill (which can get quite pricey for a business) but it doesn't make sense for exactly the situation that you described.
I would look for an over-ride or maybe contact the landlord and see if they can turn the sensativity up on the biotch. |
Looks like he put it in the room and then made the room bigger ... it's more to one side ... mounted on the ceiling ... my desk is on the other side of the room .. my office like 13x22 ft .. one side has a couch and the other my desk ... I think i just need to move it over to the middle of the room.
If i have to I'll just have it taken out.. fuck it |

Congrats on the move, seems like everything is up nd running? is the old office done and gone now?
|
You have a gremlin.
|
Sometimes you can adjust the sensitivity of those lights.. It used to happened in my backyard while we were drinking beers :)
|
Here is an idea. Put a shelf up by the sensor, and put a clock with a pendulum on it by the sensor. Move the clock at night when you leave. :winkwink:

Depends if that someones electric bill is included in the monthly rent, or if that someone pays it themselves I suppose. :winkwink: |
i think we need a mike vega dancing to turn on the light video lol

LOL I am already laughing just by imagining that.. :thumbsup :1orglaugh |
I would put a fan near the sensor , that may work. Or just rip it the fuck out the wall and go on over to home depot and buy another switch.
|
To avoid the problem just change that light sensor into a regular light switch.
|
they have on the the taco bell near me. Scared the shit out of me one time, because I had to pee so bad I was there long enough for it to shut off.
|
had that at my old office, was too lazy to do anything about it or get up and move, so i ended up working in the dark alot of the time.
|
you have the option to continue with the censor light or revert back to traditional light switch
|
that's just not right!!
