I am having an operation tomorrow!
Well guys this is it. The last surgery I can have on my foot. If this doesn't do it then I am stuck with pain and discomfort for the rest of my life. Which means hiking and all that fun stuff I use to do and can still do, but I will suffer for days after if this surgery doesn't do the trick. :sadcrying
I am going to Washoe Medical Center in Reno for my surgery tomorrow morning and will be out of work for the rest of the week. BUT that doesn't mean I won't be able to prop myself up on the couch with my laptop and help my affiliates. I am sending out e-mails and ICQ's to everyone to let them know who they can contact if I am out for longer than I think. Plus this time I am giving my camera to my surgeon and he is going to take pics of my foot wide open and pics of him drilling the blots out. I have had surgery so many times on this foot I am curious as to what he is actually doing when he cuts me open. He always cuts on the same line so my scar is very small and thin but it appears that he really opens up my foot by length and location of the scar. So wish me luck, say a prayer or whatever you practice and I will talk to all of you when I get back from the other side. hehe Oh and I love my surgeon because he always gives me the loopy shot, that's the shot you get before the shot that knocks you out, way in advanced so I can enjoy myself and relax before the cutting begins. hehe Love you all...........:wetkiss |
I hope it all works out for you!

I have an uncle who has had several foot cirurgies due to a car accident when he was young and the convalescence his usually somewhat painfull. |
Good luck!

You'll do great!!! About the pain? Hard to say what they'll let you have. Every time I've needed pain meds at home, what they gave me was a joke too. At least I can look back and say I'm glad that's over.
All that pain can put ya in a cranky mood. It did me. I was hell to live with. Wishin ya the best and as little pain as possible. Take care! |
Best of luck Loryn:thumbsup :thumbsup

I know what you mean. The last time I had surgery was when I shattered my ankle and they had to go in to reconstruct it. I had been on Vicodin since the night I shattered it and the Vicodin didn't seem to do a damn thing for the pain. But when I got to the Hospital they gave me a "Demerol Cocktail" about 30 mins before the operation. As they were moving me to the O.R. I remember telling the Anisthesiologist that I didn't feel any different and I didn't think the injection was working, to which he replied "you will". The last thing I remember was being wheeled into the Operating Room and telling one of the doctors something along the lines of "Oooooooooo, what pretty lights", he laughed and told me to count back from 100...... I don't think I made it to 99 :1orglaugh . They gave me a smaller Demerol shot when I had to get out of bed and try to walk on the crutches for the first time; I went from pain to paradise in about 5 minutes. |
