Ok, I broke down and decided the seminars are worth going to Jaco for. I didn't want to go because it is so far from the Blue Marlin. For those who don't know, the Blue Marlin is a bar with 50-150 "ladies of the night" working everyday. There is a great selection and the price is more than reasonable: You can get at least FIVE ladies to accompany you back to your room for the price of one working girl in Vegas. :winkwink:


So, my compromise: I will first go to San Jose (the airport everyone has to fly into) and spend a few days there. Anyone who wants to go to the Blue Marlin bar, I'd be more than happy to show you the way as I really love going there. :thumbsup


If you can speak spanish, maybe you can even help me broker a deal with one of the non-english speaking ladies. (if you broker AND pay, I'll let you watch) :Graucho


All you have to do is fly in a couple days early! While in San Jose, I'd recommend staying at either the Balmoral Hotel or at the Hotel Presidente. Both are within 2 blocks of the Blue Marlin.. I would recommend against staying at the Del Rey.


After 4-5 days of indulging, then I will go to the event with a big smile on my face. :pimp

To be honest Brad, generally speaking ya probably would not appreciate hotels actually in San Jose - unless you wanted to rent a room by the hour. :winkwink:

There are loads of nice places just outside the city - within 15 driving time to the center. You may want to check out the Palacio which is half way between the airport and city center. Google for "Barceló San Jose Palacio". It's nothing special, but does have all usual facilities and I think it may be 5 star - but that was probably awarded by Guillermo, the owner :winkwink:

Costa Rica is a third world country. The places I listed are both upper end; just make sure you upgrade your room. :2 cents:
