Official Players Ball thread ? Thank You?s & Reviews (feedback & PICS welcomed)
 

Well, I predicted before this Players Ball that it would be the most well received Players Ball yet. It?s hard to say one Ball is better then another, it?s like having kids. How can you pick a favorite? They each take on a life of their own, each are special for different reasons. Here?s what made this Players Ball extra special.

The sponsors were the most important part. Without their support, these parties won?t happen. So I?ll thank each sponsor later in this. Lot?s to mention.

The venue was one of the best ones yet. We changed venues 3 times in the final few weeks, it wasn?t easy to pull off. Everything does work out for the best and we found a perfect home for the Players Ball. As long as they don?t go out of business, we?re going back there again. That?s IF I go back to Vegas to throw another Players Ball. I?d really like to support the Phoenix Forum and throw a Players Ball there. Internext kicked us out of our sponsors booth, so they made it clear they could care less if we come back to Internext. Big mistake. For a hurting trade show, you?d think they would be open arms to a party scene at their show. It was the only good thing people are talking about. So when their parties totally disappear, what would they have left? Phoenix Forum is just a few weeks after Internext next year, it?s already pretty clear the people have made their choice. Phoenix it is.

Who knows, I might just throw a Players Ball in Vegas at a time of year without a trade show in town. The security staff was beefed up and very good. We had 3 times the normal amount of security working in that club and they were great. But the greatest was one of our own, Anthony. He really made a huge sacrifice to make sure our players got right in. It worked and I hope we can get him to do it again sometime. Amazing job!

The performances were absolutely amazing. DJ Clinton Sparks started off the night. The worlds #1 mixtape DJ was off the hook! Then we did the Woody Awards, had a great amount of winners accept their awards, great to see. Then George Clinton and P-Funk were absolutely amazing. I?ve seen them probably 20 or so times in my life and this was one of their best performances ever. They created the perfect vibe for our event. Laid back and cool. They played for hours. DJ Evan was great, my co-host KB was on it, we had big time PLAYERS in the house. What a great time. Then we had an after hours party in that club with a big time DJ, Big Bad Bill.

I had a great time and this was definitely my favorite ball. Anthony ran the door and everyone got in. It wasn't over crowded but there were lots of people. The show was ridiculous, George Clinton and P-Funk still rock and Too Short was tremendous. The venue was perfect, when it got too hot you could step out on the balcony if you were too cold on the balcony you go back in.

All I have to say is kudos to D$ for providing yet another incredible party experience. I can't even imagine what goes into pulling these off and this year's ball was flawless.

I would have to say this was one of the best Players Balls I have attended. Great music, service, venue and company. It was great having that upstairs outside area to be able to sit and talk with clients away from the music when needed.

D, it was great seeing you and Jen. Hayden is a beautiful lil baby. Just wish I could have seen him perform the muffin man dance.

Great time. No hassles. Greeted withe a huge smile and good vibes by Anthony. Bravo!!!

I am sorry to say, this is probably the first ever Players Ball party I missed from way back to 1999, I happened to get a very bad case of stomach flu on fri night and tried my hardest to make it, but could not...

Did anyone stick around for the after-hours??? The 90 min set I played before bad boy bill went on was dedicated to all the playettes fyi and that was the highlight of my dj life so far. Grinding and sweating on the dance floor was most appreciated (plus my korean and japanese groupies that made me feel special for a minute up in the booth) :winkwink:

I would definately like to see Internext do better. But if this is how it has to be, I'd be all for it. I just want a comfortable environment to do business in. I don't care what state or city it is in... Just as long as I get business done.

This was definitely the best Player's Ball I've been to, and the venue was perfect for what we needed! I got some wicked pictures of the chandelier, even, but they're still stuck on my laptop.

D$ - Thanks! Truly a fantastic show. I danced my ass off and did some great biz. My only regret was Diaper Man didn't wear the diaper but what can you do? Too Short rapping with the band was incredible!

I really do NOT understand that bullshit about kicking you outta the show floor. How much money did they want out of you minimum in order to be able to do what you do? Because I think they just lost alot more. Someone over there needs to wake up and realize they are are on a rapid downward spiral. And they don't even give two shits enough to attempt to salvage the business they DID have...

Oh well!
