Rumours has it that alot of webmasters will be busted by the feds at Vegas. Who do you think who will be busted?

The one that does that will only be arrested by cops, not the feds. The feds will come to arrest specific people for internet matters, so I hear.

I believe they handed out lawsuits at Internext last year to quite a few spammers or something like that...

I'm suprised then you haven't heard. It's been going on for the past week and getting stronger as the days passes.

law enforcement doesn't run up in a packed convention hall to take down people. it doesn't work like that. the FTC handed out papers to some hosting companies last year. what do you mean busted? what kind of charges?

They do sometime arrest people pack places for publicity and show to the world they mean business. The charge is rumoured to be internet related.

No, they handed out subpoenas. HUGE difference. If you were the feds and you wanted to maximize your time and travel (and see half naked models :thumbsup ) to a group of people centrally located, wouldn't it make sense to do it at a show?

I have heard a couple of interesting rumors about visits to parties at unlicensed locations...

I know a few webmasters that want to keep a low profile as much as possible because of these rumours. They wont their face at big gathering for fear of seeing seen in the news :winkwink:

Doing an ID check for underage drinking would net them more "busts" than going after spammers and the like :winkwink:

Picking up people at the show would only open them up for law suits later. Becuase they made it harder for the person to defend themselves, but 1. not having docments on hand, and two having to hire an outof state attorney ( if that is the case ) to defend them.
