Any of you guys watching this "real sports with bryant gumble"

It's about soccer in europe and how they hate black people that play the game. It is showing clips of everytime a black guy gets the ball, the crowd chants like monkeys or chants "niggger"(and not 50 or 100 people, more like
10,000 - 15,000)

Other times they throw bananas, do the hitler salute, spit on the guys.

I cant believe shit like this still happens, especially in a place that is suppose to be a "couple years ahead of the united states"

yes there is racism in football or soccer as you cfall it

but stating that everyone hates black people that play the game is of course bullshit ,

you're dumb to even think this might be truthfull

fact is, its only a small percentage of the fans that are like this ,mostly in Italy ,

It just seems like at least 50% of Bryant's monthly show is about race in sports. I guess living in the south, I hear about race and racism all the time, and it gets old.

That said, there is tremendous racism in Europe, just look at the French riots, I think that all boiled down to racism and job opportunities based on skin color and religious affiliation.

But then it seems soccer fans have issues.

i love it when other people from other countries say the US is violent

just watch ANY soccer match from ANY country and witness the violence that ensues between fans and players being attacked. some of the soccer stadiums have concrete walls and 15 foot high fences seperating opposing teams fans complete with swat teams as security and people getting killed.

you never see that shit at any US sporting events.

What a stupid conclusion... there are 400 millions of football (soccer) fans in europe and because a few stupid guys are racists you say all europeans are racists?

England, Their top clubs in the premiership all have different races in their teams, pretty much most of them are the best paid ones :) Its the 1st and 2nd leagues that make it horrible

Holland, Certain supporters from top clubs while playing against other top clubs it happens, Now in Holland they stop the game for it till they stop, best way to deal with it

they threw bananas at oliver kahn ( goalkeeper of bayern munich [a white guy]) because he looks like an ape and beheaves like that sometimes.


and the hitler salute was done by a italian player whose name i can't recall right. he was sued over 10k after the game but said it wasn't the hitler salute but the caesar salute he did because his whole family is from rome

But like previous posts said, they got a hold, if they keep singing and shooting racist stuff the game stops. Wonder why they didnt impose that before, its been like this for ages. 10 year or so since they started singing bout Hamass, Jews, Hitler etc Amsterdam vs The Hague or Rotterdam. Horrible.

To me he seems like a Nationalist who is far-right, but I don't think it is anymore extreme than that. Plenty of Communist inclined people in the media, entertainment and sport in any event. He did not do anything particularly wrong, and it was not a 'Hitler salute'. If members of European parliament can sing 'The Internationale' Communist anthem without any rammifications why can a soccer player not make a fascist salute. You don't have to agree with him, but he was well within his right to do it, and you do have to understand Hitler was not the inventor of Fascist politics.

The media loves to blow up things. Of course it happens but not as much and as explosive as everyone thinks. They do it to everyone black or white.

Just a couple of ppl doing this(100 or so) But yeah still it's fucked up. But it's not because they are "just" black(well for Lazio it has todo with it:)) But they wanna "hurt" the feelings of players, so he will start playing worse, and their team will win. For example, one soccerplayer had a car accident and killed a person with it. And they were making car noises. When jewish teams play, they make gas noises etc.

And yeah I agree it sucks. But those so called "die" hard fans(which they are not) have a lower IQ, then the goals that are made during a soccer match.

Its not as bad as it used to be. 25 years ago in the UK it was awful but its pretty much cleared up. If any supporter chants racist abuse now they are invariably caught on cctv, prosecuted, get a criminal record plus are banned for life from football stadiums. That tends to keep them in check.

A lot of the other "major" leagues have ironed it out as well although there are still the odd incidents. Lately it seems to have been more the former Eastern European nations that need to sort it out, along with places like Turkey. The governing bodies of football though will come down harder in the future and in time they will see a reduction in incidences too.

You have seen it on American tv so it must be true. We all love soccer and all soccerfans are racist. So all Europeans are rascist. Yup.

It is mostly intimidation. They all just love the black players of their own team but hate the players of the other teams. In Barcelona we insult, shout and spit on Figo, and he is not black.
