Yes. It's true. It was hard for me to admit it, but as a Canadian that's been living in Canada for 19 years, I can now publically admit, that I hate Canada. Canada is a joke. It's always been a joke. Our political system is a horrible failure. Our politicians are all corrupt and assholes. Our justice system is the laughing stock of the ENTIRE FUCKING PLANET. Cops arrest people in Canada for MURDER, and the perpetrator gets out in either a) 2 years, b) 5 years) or c) they get house arrest after the charge is lowered to manslaughter.

A kid here, 16 I believe he was, was chased down and beaten to death by a large group of other kids. All the charges have since been dropped, and the last guy who is still being charged, is being charged for manslaughter, and is looking at, get this, no jail time, because he was under 18 at the time.

It needs to be known in the world, that if you ever plan on killing another human being, do it in Canada. You wont even goto prison for it. Criminals who murder people in Canada are treated better by the justice system and the government than the victims and their families are.

You can be damn sure that if you're murdered here, justice WILL NOT be served. In the States, if someone is murdered, and a person arrested, the family can find SOME closure in that fact, but in Canada, the family will be humiliated when the perp gets off.

A recent surge in handgun related homocides in the Vancouver area have prompted quick action from our retarded politicians--Let's ban handguns entirely! Sure, banning them won't do jack shit when it comes to preventing THOUSANDS of illegal weapons being smuggled up from the US, and we all know criminals sure as fuck wont surrender their illegally purchased and owned firearms. So now we've got upstanding citizens who can't own handguns, while criminals can continue to own and operate all the firearms they wish!

The INSTANT I finish my schooling here, I'm gone. I'm thinking Australia maybe, maybe even the UK. I don't know where I'm going to end up. To be honest, I don't fucking care. Even Iraq is a better example of a country than Canada is, and Iraq is a fucking pathetic example of a country! I used to wonder why WarChild was such a cocksucking anti-canadian, but I realise now that this defensive reaction was nothing more than me trying to convince myself that I like Canada. I managed to bullshit myself for 17 years about how great Canada is. And now, tonight, I've finally had a revelation. Canada is a pit of hypocrisy, hate, retarded politicians, pathetic justice, and idiotic laws.

Canadians are also alot less friendly than Americans. I can say this from experience. Any time I've ever been in the United States (And I've been all over it), Americans were far friendlier than Canadians (and I've been all over Canada).

You're accusing me of being a troll when I've been here far longer than you? Come on, almost all of my posts have been legitimate, including the ones in this thread.

I can't think of ONE american I've encountered that hasn't been completely friendly. Even the stupid ones from the south were extremely friendly. Through my travels of Canada, I've met TONS of dickheads/assholes/twats.

Further more, several of my American friends tell me that when they meet a Canadian and reveal themselves to be American, the Canadian will go onto a rant about the US/george bush/republicans/whatever. When I was in North Carolina, if someone knew I was Canadian, they would ask me stuff about Canada, they wouldn't shit talk my country.

And I am definitly not planning on ever living in the United States. I can't stand their government, and it's far to close to Canada.

I think you are being too harsh on Canada, but I totally agree about the handgun thing.

All the recent handgun murders I can recall involved smuggled handguns from the US. If anyone here from Canada has a handgun, you know the hoops you have to jump through to own one. I can guarantee there are no criminals that own handguns legitimately. Now everyone that spent thousands to get one legally will probably have to turn it in to be destroyed. And since anyone that owns one legally will have already registered it, there is no way you can stop them from taking them, since they already know you have it.

Just another slap in the face to the law-abiding citizens in the name of "preventing crime", which does ZERO to actually get at the root of the real problems, not unlike the pathetic gun registry, which isn't even supported by any of the OPP officers I personally know.

At least I hear they are leaving it up to the provinces to decide whether or not to ban them, but we all know how that is going to turn out.

These kids are fucking criminals. If they had the balls to kill someone, them or their parents should face the consequences and be punished for that.

As the opposite example, the local congress here in Czech just recently passed a legislation to lower the age of criminal responsibilty to 14.

Thumbs up to them for recognizing that childern are far different now to those from 40-50 years ago when these criminal laws were written.

Based on my experience and that of many friends of mine who are American and have visited from various parts of the US, I would strongly disagree on this point.

And there are flaws in the justice system of every country, not just Canada. You can run but you can't hide.

pornguy - that is not true, manslaughter is still counted as a homicide, the actual criminal charge is not what is counted. A homicide is a homicide is a homicide. The news reports them as "murders" and they are "murders" as far as STATSCAN is concerned.
