My step father in law just told me "you know, the government controls the weather?"

I SHIT YOU NOT

he is convinced that the government is in control of the weather, something to do with hurricane katrina and a government sponsored weather controlling experiment

he was a sane man the last time I saw him, now he is OUT THERE....seriously bad...his wife is even very concerned

anyone know people like this, and what the fuck do we do to get him back to earth?

BoyAlley 12-11-2005 07:19 PM

Time to stick him in a home.

escorpio 12-11-2005 07:20 PM

How old is he?

Deputy Chief Command 12-11-2005 07:21 PM

last time I checked I was in control of the weather , and no I don't work for the gov, so there goes his theory ....

jacked 12-11-2005 07:21 PM

he's stumbled upon his old stash of LSD

NickPapageorgio 12-11-2005 07:22 PM

Just show him some sort of proof that the weather can't be influenced my man. That should bring him around...

boner 2.0 12-11-2005 07:23 PM

I doubt it. People believe what they want to believe, regardless of what proof you show them.

That's the biggest problem facing mankind today.

Concoct an elaborate explanation that although its true the feds control the weather with their secret machines...they were forced to do this to combat the tornados created by the Al Queda device.

DON'T mention to him about the polar ice machine we have up here in Canada. That might just send'em over the edge.

Too young for Alzheimer's but it sounds as if he might be coming unwrapped anyway. Your mother-in-law should let a doctor know what's going on. :2 cents:

i agree totally, the problem is he becomes very confrontational when someone doesn't want to believe him....

she is very worried, because it seems to be only getting worse

the sad part of it is, if it wasnt' for all those consipracy websites out there, i doubt it would have ever happened....all those tin foil hat fuckers have hooked him and reeled him in

I don't know if its exactly a problem either. One fact is only legit until another fact "proves" it wrong.

"The Earth is flat." At one time that statement was fact. A crazy scientist begged to differ. The whole population showed him "proof" that the Earth was flat. He still didn't believe it. And today we now know that the Earth is not flat.

What common facts will be proven false tomorrow?

Yeah, trying to talk him into seeing someone would be an emotional drain and a waste of time. She should just consult a doctor on her own if it is so bad she's become concerned.

aico 12-11-2005 07:42 PM

The problem isn't your step father, the problem is a Gov't that can't be trusted. If people trusted our Gov't, there wouldn't be any of these crazy allegations.

I read in the LA Times today that France told the US Gov't and CIA that the stories of Iraq trying to purchase Uranium from Africa were totally fabricated and proven to be bullshit, yet President Bush, even knowing this information, chose to tell us that it was true, as a reason to go to war...

Even CIA officials were saying "Ya, we know it wasn't true, we don't know why he said it."...

We have a complete psychopath running our country, why we are allowing it continue is beyond me.

http://www.haarp.net/

"HAARP Boils the Upper Atmosphere

HAARP will zap the upper atmosphere with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam. It is an advanced model of an "ionospheric heater." (The ionosphere is the electrically-charged sphere surrounding Earth's upper atmosphere. It ranges between 40 to 60 miles above the surface of the Earth.)
Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antenna send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything -- living and dead.

HAARP publicity gives the impression that the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program is mainly an academic project with the goal of changing the ionosphere to improve communications for our own good. However, other U.S. military documents put it more clearly -- HAARP aims to learn how to "exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes." Communicating with submarines is only one of those purposes..."

Jace 12-11-2005 07:54 PM

oh, he also claims that the USA is control of laser beam satellite emitor (or something like that)....so that when we go to war, we can aim a satellite at any location and just zap people away

so, if they have someone they want gone, they can aim this ultra precise laser from space and kill them instantly

candyflip 12-11-2005 07:54 PM

He may not be so far out there. These days...you never know.

But then again, this shit dates back to the 50's i think.

that could quite possibly be where he got the idea from....and you know what, the more I read on that page, the more it HAS to be it....it has too many commonalities with what he is saying

yeah, he claims they have been doing it for 40 or so years

he has SOOOO many other theories, this was just the one that stood out to me the most

next time I am up visiting him, i will take notes and report back in this thread....

they have wireless up at their house, and he is convinced the fm tower transmittors a mile away are tapped into and monitoring him from his wireless connection

Jer 12-11-2005 07:59 PM

The US government may not control the weather, but it is partially responsible for the global warming

I'm sure they could if they wanted to, but if he really thinks the government is putting resources towards monitoring his Internet usage he must have a screw loose, haha.

yeah, i have no doubt in my mind that the government can pretty much DO anything, but what they probably don't do, is monitor where his little tin foil hat is surfing on the internet

Fucksakes 12-11-2005 08:07 PM

my ex's mother told me once that the northern lights are from sun shinning off the ice up near the northpole

she is normally smart, but this just made me laugh.

KRL 12-11-2005 08:07 PM

The weather has been really bizarre the last few years.

Not to spook any of you guys in Europe, but check out the real time NOAA satellite imagery of the Atlantic right now on the link below. Look up near spain and it looks like an enormous Hurricane is forming.

you beat me to posting that :) who really knows what HAARP is for but there is no doubting its for something big.

newbreed 12-11-2005 08:09 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't AlienQ invent the weather, and thereby control it?

reed_4 12-11-2005 08:10 PM

Your step dad maybe pointing out some truths about the controversy of that hurricane incident.

BIGTYMER 12-11-2005 08:10 PM

HAARP is some crazy shit. I saw a show on it months back.

I personally think that part of that is due to global warming, but I firmly believe that the world and nature work in cycles, and we are just going through a extreme cycle right now so that nature can level itself out...it could last for 100 years, it could last for 10 years....

have you ever learned physics? you could make a hurricane by make very low air pressure. this is not impossible to do and he is perfectly sane... do not consider his age silly, a lot of experience there... i'm all serious!

so, add to that also the fact he thinks the government is monitoring him through the fm tower a mile away

oh, and the war laser is a nice one too

like I said, there are tons more theories he had

but the fact he actually said to me that the US government purposely caused hurricane katrina to wipe out new orleans, that scared me
