epassporte, STAY AWAY

epassporte is a horror story.

i let somebody from gfy pay me through epass, they sent me $250.

a week later my account was "temporaraly suspended" so i call them and they ask me to fax in documents, i ended up doing this 6 times until they recieved them.

till i wait weeks and hear nothing...

so i call them, they cant tell me anything, i called them 18 times over 3 weeks and still nothing.

then finaly they get back to me because i found an icq for one of them.

they tell me the $250 was fraud, well i thought it was their job to protect me from fraud, but i said ok, just leave a 250 debt on there and ill clear it.

so still my account isnt fixed....as you can imagine by this time im getting pissed off and swearing at these incapable idiots.

the reply i get?

"You are not owed anything from ePassporte
You don't have a right to a ePassporte account
You elected to do business with a fraud find somewhere else to do business."

i elected to do business with fraud?

i have a paypal account, verified 150+ transactions, why would i "elect to do fraud"?

well make up your own mind about this company but im not dropping it here

datezonline 11-30-2005 05:37 PM

their service is so bad too, i think outsourcing it to india would actually be an improvement

p1mpdogg 11-30-2005 05:40 PM

all your epass belong to us

GTS Mark 11-30-2005 05:41 PM

Epassporte works great for us, sorry to hear about your problems though.

DH

adultchica 11-30-2005 05:42 PM

Yea I haven't had any probs with it so far...only get paid by people you know and trust through Epassporte!!!!

brizzad 11-30-2005 05:43 PM

They still have $95 of my dollars.. but paypal has $850, so i guess epassporte is the better of two evils

Machete_ 11-30-2005 05:43 PM

sound morelike you got cought dealing with a fraud... your own fault if you ask me

Phoenix 11-30-2005 05:44 PM

epassporte is awesome...sorry you had a bad experience

datezonline 11-30-2005 05:44 PM

its epassportes job to protect me from fraud not the other way around

datezonline 11-30-2005 05:46 PM

my own fault? im supposed to know the scammers am i? the only scammers i see are epass

Wad 11-30-2005 05:50 PM

Don't accept money from people you don't know who they are... use it to receive money from those who has business accounts with epass...let's say from sponsors, and you wouldn't have any probs anymore
From unknown persons it's better to use WU or something like this... I can't recommend online methods such as paypal or epass for that... my 2 cents

Yep, sure is. Same thing has happened to us a few times. Some scammer opens up an epass account with a stolen credit card. They then use the loaded funds; in our case they bought traffic from us.

But, I've learned to spot this scam, so now *I* tell epass when they have a fraudulent transaction within their system. Pretty sad; should be the other way around. Our credit card processors have much better fraud scrubbing and scanning.

fetishblog 11-30-2005 05:51 PM

Wow, that sounds like a paypal nightmare. lol.

Wad 11-30-2005 05:52 PM

It's not your fault... but not epass fault as well. Simply don't leave the chance to cheaters to cheat anybody. In such systems everything works well.

JFK 11-30-2005 05:53 PM

I am sorry to hear about your problems, never had a problem with them :thumbsup

datezonline 11-30-2005 05:54 PM

well im new to the system and had no way of telling, and they are saying its my fault. thats bullshit.

ive been scammed on paypal before too, but they are a professional company, easy to work with and sort things out.

their service actually works and they have a responsibility to their customers, they dont hide offshore and abuse them.

Hustlin Entertainment 11-30-2005 05:57 PM

epass has done and served me very well i've had slight problems but i mean shit, their fucking service has been rock solid for 3 years+ they have never hidden or fucked me over and i look forward to using them for years to come =)

ravo 11-30-2005 05:57 PM

If epass does put the onus on you to spot fraud, they have to give you the tools to do it; for each transaction show me; IP number, name, address, phone number, user agent, etc. Otherwise, with no info, I can't tell if a payment is legit or not.

Wad 11-30-2005 05:57 PM

The only your fault is that you accepted fraud transfer to you, but you couldn't know about that.
So the best thing you can do is to verify your account, send documents etc.

datezonline 11-30-2005 05:57 PM

its amazing what complaining to the bbb, visa and st kitts bank can do.
they just after months, reinstated my account. not that im going to use it after this.

datezonline 11-30-2005 05:59 PM

ravo, when i get a payment i only see the name, "have_three" scammed me, i see nothing else???

ravo 11-30-2005 06:00 PM

Don't get me wrong; we use epass in a huge way; they now account for over 50% of our affiliate payouts. But, they have a long way to go to improve their customer service and fraud scrubbing. As long as you can live with those limitations (and I do), they are a great service.

That's my point; you have no way of verifying the legitimacy of a transaction based on the limited info that epass gives you.

MickeyG 11-30-2005 06:40 PM

atleast 3 epassporte sucks threads on the front page right now.

SmokeyTheBear 11-30-2005 07:01 PM

That sucks , i wasn't very impressed when i heard of simliar stories..

An affiliate program was setup and the owner ran stolen credit cards through their own program ( probably to use legit webmasters to run joins to keep the chargeback ratio low )

They got busted , epassporte closed their business account and shut them down .. BUt they also closed and took the money of every affiliate paid by that program.. So if you had $900 in your account and someone sends you $10 from an account "associated" with fraud , they can seize your $900 and the $10.

cmon epassporte dont shoot yourselves in the foot.. investigate , dont just seize money aka paypalize the money

Jer 11-30-2005 07:35 PM

Sad story :(

Epassporte is a great product but it needs a lot of improvement.

datezonline 11-30-2005 08:45 PM

that sux smokey....thats why they are offshore, they cant be sued

V_RocKs 11-30-2005 09:08 PM

I should probably knock on wood before saying this but...

I have had an account with epassporte for 1 1/2 years... I have had only one problem in that time frame. The problem was myself. I thought a charge was not mine and had it closed on my own.

I have a $5000 a day limit with up to 25 transactions. I get paid by 95% of my sponsors through it. I never have problems and when I do, I do a bit of research and call the right person instead of going through customer service.

I liked it better when they were still heavely associated with EPOCH because I knew the numbers of the people I wanted to call directly back then. But since the switch no major drama...

Paypal on the other hand closed my account with $2800 in it for 6 fucking months! No fraud... They just didn't like adult money I guess.

Now a serious question... I don't know you so I don't know your financial situation... But...

Do you think you would be here stinking up their reputation if $250 was what you wiped your ass with? It sounds like someone fraudulently added money to their account and then paid you with it. Epassporte did nothing wrong here. You worked with someone who is into fraud. You said it yourself.

YOUR BEEF IS WITH THIS PERSON WHO FUCKED YOU OVER! NOT EPASSPORTE!

I bet if that $250 was basically what you would spend on a night out instead of 1/4 of your rent you wouldn't be here talking shit about Epassporte? No?

Nobody is questioning epassporte's reputation as a great service, they are questioning the methods they employ to seize money..

If epassporte blindly robbed every 10th person's money they would still have 9 people saying "they are great , never had a problem" for every one saying " i got gyped" That doesnt mean they didn't get gyped. Thats why banks are usually very carefull with how they treat their clients..

If someone loaded an epass acount with a fraud card and sent it to you in good faith would you expect ALL your money to be seized or "just" the money involved with that account..? How is anyone supposed to verify if a user has loaded his account with a "fraud" card.? How far does this reach , if you then sent some money to your grandma should they seixe that too ? and he paid choker for some traffic so will they seize his account too ?

I think epass is legit , they just got overwhelmed as any new service with fraud and such , but if they dont be carefull it will put them out of business by hurting the very people that make it a success.

cybermike 11-30-2005 10:02 PM

It took them almost 2 weeks to verify my account, should of took 24-48 hours like they initialy quoted.

Gotta say keyser Soze was helpful when I contacted him on icq

No kidding that's like VISA shutting someone's merchant account because they got 1 fraud charge and keeping all the money. brutal

I guess I can see your point... It would piss me off to not be able to use $3000 in my account from sponsors because I did a $100 paypal to epassporte tranfer here with a fraud artist... But if you know who to call and if you are smart about having more than one account, many of the problems can be avoided.

The truth is most of the people in this industry are here because nothing else was working for them. I know of a few people here who have NO CREDIT and therefor no REAL CREDIT CARDS and so they absolutely depend on shit like Epassporte to work 100% of the time. If my account is frozen, I have more accounts, I have real CC's, I have my checking account card, I have my Paypal card, I have various other cards... Mostly Russian Fethard type of shit.

So lesson here is if you do start making money in this business, pay off your debts! Get a real card. Keep the money spread around. Get 1 measly sale with the sponsor in my sig and they will give you an account for free. ie no load charges or credit card needed to open the account.

Nothing worse than going to Internext and finding out that someone you thought was set can't pay for their dinner because the one card they have isn't working for some reason.

phonesex 12-01-2005 01:18 AM

the only reason you should use epass is to get paid from affiiliates and withdraw the cash from atm's.

CheeseFrog 12-01-2005 01:29 AM

ePassporte blows chunks. They're the iBill of the online payment industry, and even that's giving them a lot of credit. There's few people who haven't had any problems with them, but you know what they say...

http://www.cheesefrog.com/frog/iim_01.jpg
"I haven't had any problems with them. ePassport is great!"

Zester 12-01-2005 02:30 AM

they are the only ones who accept adult...that's it

why can't anyone do exacly what ePass do but give better support and better scrubing?

Greg MissionD 12-01-2005 02:38 AM

Nothing gets passed smokey, he always explains stuff real well and he is of course... right.

lazycash 12-01-2005 02:54 AM

Epass is great as long as you don't have any issues that pop up and need to be taken care of. Their service is absolutely horrible and its virtually impossible to resolve anything in a timely manner. I realize they have to outsource support to keep costs down, but ultimately it just drives members away.
