My baby son of 1.5 months old is in the hospital

My 1,5 month old son is in the hospital. I hope I explain this right as I don't
know the correct english terms for it. My son is suffering from a hernia in the
groin area on both sides. His intestines are pushing on it /partly through the
ruptures so it won't heal by itself apart from the fact that if his intestines
break he will surely die.

The surgery by itself is not so dangerous but since he's only 1 and a half
month old and only weighs 6 and half pounds it is risky.

So anybody who needs to get in touch with me urgently CALL me at
+31 630 419 691. I am online regularly but I'm not keeping
up with the boards. So trying to get in touch with me through the board
won't work, call me or use email, aim, icq or skype and be patient if I don't
respond straight away. My son is in a hospital not very close to my house
since they only do this surgery to babies in very few hospitals.

and wish me luck dammit I've more than a fair share of badluck over the past few months :Oh crap

Oh and happy thanksgiving to all of you! :thumbsup

Hij heeft een dubbele liesbreuk aan beide kanten en zijn dunne darm drukt door de breuk.

I don't know how to translate that any other way than I did above.... :(

My son had the same operation when he was 2 or 3. They make 2 small incissions on each side and fix it. He was up running around the next day and in no pain. I hope it works out just as well for your son.

Anna_O 11-25-2005 05:44 AM

Best wishes to you and your son.

Mijn vriendin is een pedeatrics doctor en zij zegt dat dit vaker voorkomt bij babies. Het is een vrij standaard operatie. Maak je geen zorgen, het komt vast goed in orde. :thumbsup

ServerGenius 11-25-2005 06:14 AM

Thanks everybody for the warm reactions. He will get surgery in a week or so
there's a waiting list but I caused mahem in the hospital yesterday which
resulted that it's done now within a week or so instead of the early january.
He must be in pain cause he's crying the whole day and part of the night so I
started a riot in the hospital to get this done faster......fucking idiots you
can't leave a baby who's in pain waiting for a month before they do this
surgery.....I'll keep you guys posted on how things will work out.

Thanks again it means a lot to me.

spunky99 11-25-2005 06:17 AM

Hans,

This is defiantly one of the worst feelings in the world... (I never want to see any kid suffer) I hope for best. On a positive note kids have some of the most amazing resilient in the world.

Best regards,

Anthony

Sad when it's an infant .. they don't even know what is going on or why it hurts; parents feel hepless ...

Good luck with the surgery ... everything should be fine.

If I see people looking for you here ( or complaining ), I will point them to this thread.

I hope the best for your son and your family.

My son had a hernia at the age of 2 months but we were able to prolong it until he was 1 years old, and then he had the operation.

The operation is very simple and recovery is fast. Good Luck!

Shaft_1971 11-25-2005 08:41 AM

Sorry to hear. Good Luck!!

Th!nk 11-25-2005 08:56 AM

it's really sad when you hear little angels are suffering from pain...so hard to think that with their tiny body they feel so much already...sorry to hear bout that! hope everything turns out right! my hopes and prayers are with you...

selena 11-25-2005 08:56 AM

For whatever it is worth, my oldest son had the same type of thing when he was 3 months old, and had to have emergency surgery.

He's 18 now. :)

The surgery will be much harder on you than it is your son.

Best of luck with it, and know you are in my prayers. :)

DeadFidel 11-25-2005 09:07 AM

Sorry to hear..sent my prayers, but in that case GFY would not be the place, but you never know. Hope to read some good news soon.
